Microsoft has released a list of 40 games headed to its new Xbox Games on Windows service for upcoming touch-powered OS Windows 8. A little like Sony’s PlayStation Mobile platform, Xbox Games on Windows certifies games for any Windows 8-powered device, and also throws in a host of community features like leaderboards, achievements and multiplayer.
As you’d expect, we’re not exactly talking Halo 4 here; the games are mostly touch-friendly casual affairs. That said, there’s some pretty great stuff on there like Skulls of the Shogun, Hydro Thunder Hurricane, Jetpack Joyride, Ilomilo and – to the soundtrack of my mind blowing – hardcore 2D fighter BlazBlue Calamity Trigger. See the full list on Major Nelson’s blog – and remember, this is just the “first wave”.
