Resident Evil: Revelations

With Resident Evil Revelations fast approaching its May 24 release date, Capcom have released a demo for the game onto Steam — which you can grab here.

The game originally started life as a Nintendo 3DS title, and has since been overhauled with HD graphics and tweaked for the PC. You can check out the PC specs and look at some screenshots by clicking here. It’s been one of the few Resident Evil games in recent years to actually get a positive reception from fans and critics alike, so it’ll be interesting to see how well it holds up when it finally launches.

Capcom are promising a return to the horror roots of Resident Evil with the upcoming HD remake of Resident Evil: Revelations, and they’ve gathered together some of the development team to talk about just how scary the original games were.

Whether they’ll be able to translate that into an actually scary experience this time around is yet to be seen, but with critics universally panning Resident Evil 6 (including ourselves) it probably won’t be difficult to up the ante a little. Check out the video below.

Resident Evil: Revelations

Capcom have sent word this morning that Resident Evil: Revelations is set to launch on PC on May 23rd this year.

Revelations was originally launched as a Nintendo 3DS game in January of last year to generally positive critical reception, and is set chronologically between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5.

The title will be overhauled with high-quality HD visuals, enhanced lighting effects and improved audio, as well as delivering a new enemy, a new difficulty level, and improvements to Raid Mode. It will launch simultaneously on PC, PS3, XBox 360 and Nintendo’s Wii U.
