Ravaged

The people at 2 Dawn games have just written to us to let us know that anybody who owns an expired “demo” version of Ravaged is about to get an early Christmas gift – all demo versions are being upgraded to full retail versions in time for Christmas.

What does this mean? It means you just scored a free game, buddy. Nice work!

The upgrade even includes the recent DLC just launched for the game, including the new weapons, unlock system and VOIP system and November’s big release, so you’ll be ready to play instantly. Merry Christmas! Now shoot a guy in the face.

Here at games.on.net we’re pretty big fans of Ravaged, and we’re also pretty big fans of bargains. Right now Ravaged is a cool 50% off ($5) during the Steam sales, but here’s the good news: once the sale ends, it will be locked into a new price of just $10.

2Dawn Games have also sent word that Ravaged will soon be getting a new patch introducing a bunch of new weapons and vehicles, including a Dump Truck, Tractor Tank, Nail Gun and more. They’ll also be introducing personal player stats, as well as weapon unlocks based on XP, and tweaks to the Littlebird & ATV are coming.

If that sounds like a thing you’d enjoy, head over to Steam and grab it while the sale lasts — or grab the four pack, for the price of three.

We once described Ravaged as the indie love child of Battlefield 3 and Mad Max here at games.on.net, and we’re still very comfortable with that statement. Now you can get comfortable with it too, as Ravaged has now launched. The game is running at $24.99, and you can grab it through Steam or direct from the developer.

If you’ve still got a beta key, never fear: beta key users — and players who download the demo — can still play the game on the demo servers on the canyon map. Speaking of servers, we’re working on getting ours up and running, so keep a look out for games.on.net to appear in your server browser shortly.

I came into this trailer not knowing anything about Ravaged. Suffice to say, I am impressed now. Ravaged releases on PC next week and comes from indie developer 2 Dawn Games. They are indie, but that doesn’t mean they’re noobies: the studio is comprised of Desert Combat, Battlefield 2 and Frontlines: Fuel of War developmental veterans.

The game itself is a multiplayer vehicular shooter, with ground- and air-based combat set in a post-apocalyptic world, for up to 32 players. There will be dedicated servers, anti-cheat measures and clan support. Sound interesting? The game will be $24.99 on Steam, and available on October 18. Check out the trailer below, or click here for our hands-on impressions.

The keys have all been given away! Stay tuned for future giveaways, and thanks to all who grabbed one!

2Dawn games have given us a huge swag of beta keys to give away for Ravaged - the post-apocalyptic Mad Max/Battlefield love child that you may remember us talking about over here.

If you’d like to get in on this and try out the game for yourself, all you need to do is head over to this community forum thread and ask. Easy as!

That’s all there is to it! Go on, get moving!
