An enterprising modder has used the open-source Vireio Perception driver to turn Mirror’s Edge into an Oculus Rift game, with startling (and impressively bug-free) results. The video below shows both what the user is seeing as well as reaction cam so we can watch the user as he plays. Check it out.

If you’re after more Oculus Rift VR stuff, I can’t recommend this video highly enough, where a 90-year old grandmother flips out at how amazing virtual reality is. It’s the best.

Fans of Mirror’s Edge can tentatively rejoice, as EA are looking at bringing it back some time, in the future, probably maybe. “We love Faith. We love the property,” said EA Labels president Frank Gibeau to GameInformer magazine. “It’s on the list. It’s just about looking at what teams are available, who’s got the right quality approach to it, and who understands it.”

Gibeau infamously teased us all back in 2011 by hinting that he was “sure” we would see a combination of the Frostbite 2 engine and Mirror’s Edge in the near future. Oh well – you can’t spell “tease” without “EA”, as they say.
