Mars: War Logs is yet another interesting RPG opportunity from the team at Cyanide and Spiders, who seem to make it their business to put together strange and unconventional-looking RPGs that nobody else is working on. So what’s it all about?
Well if you’ve been keeping up with our previous coverage then you’d know that you play a man stuck in the middle of a huge war over natural resources and politics in a dark, gritty Martian setting — but if you don’t know that, you can find out more in the video below.
You can find out more about the game at the official site.

Spiders has produced some beautiful screenshots and cutscenes for Mars: War Logs but apart from a vague description of its conversation system and action combat, we’ve been somewhat in the dark about what the RPG actually is. This trailer makes it all clear; we’re looking at a third-person affair with melee, ranged weapons, and magic, with lots of rolling and special moves. Reminds me a bit of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, but with a science-fiction setting. The video also shows off gear customisation and enemies as well as few weapons. Mars: War Logs is expected sometime in Autumn.
Everyone’s talking about a certain other cyberpunk title at the moment, but the chatter has apparently motivated Spiders to release a little more information about its upcoming action RPG Mars: War Logs. The digitally-distributed sci fi epic has players in the role of one Roy Temperance, stuck in the middle of a gang war over Mars’s failing water reserves.
Roy will have play off the interests of the once-powerful conservatives Abundance as they struggle to maintain dominance over a new guild known as Aurora, whose ranks include Technomancers, the cyberpunk equivalent of mages. It features equipment crafting, NPC conversations, real time action combat and ladies wearing what appear to be satellite dishes wired into their brains. Sold.
Publisher Focus Home Entertainment has been quietly gloating over a new batch of screenshots showing off some of the characters and images form last month’s debut trailer, which you can check out below.
