Indie developer and games.on.net community member Sean Edwards has written to us to let us know that the multiplayer update for Lunar Flight is now live.

Lunar Flight, which you can find on Steam, now has two multiplayer modes: mission score and deathmatch. Up to 16 players can take part, and there’s a full integrated server browser and multiplayer leaderboard. Check out the trailer below.

Oculus Rift support is coming next, Sean assures us — so stay tuned.

Australian-made lunar landing simulator Lunar Flight (check it out here on Steam) is set to receive a massive update soon, including both a multiplayer mode with PVP deathmatches (that’s right: lunar landing module deathmatch) and new difficulty options.

Developer Sean Edwards explained to us that the new difficulty options include “Unlimited Fuel, Invulnerability, Auto Leveling and Accurate Landings.”

“Each option effects a skill modifier value that’s used to calculate your missions rewards,” said Sean, explaining that the game’s difficulty level was often too much for newcomers. “This should make it a lot more accessible and ensure just about anyone can complete missions and make some progress.”

Sean also explained that his next big task would be adding Oculus Rift support to the game in the next update. If you’d like to see a demo of the multiplayer in action, check out this video.
