Fez

In case you’ve been living under some sort of boulder, indie darling and platforming wunderkind Fez, which charmed so many on XBLA so long ago, has finally received its long-awaited PC version.

You can pick it up for a paltry $10 either on Steam, from GOG.com, or from the developer themselves. If you purchase it directly from the developer, you’ll get a DRM-free version as well as a Steam key, and they’ll get to keep the entirety of the profit. So that’s probably the best deal, if you like supporting indies!

Fez

Fez, that indie darling formerly exclusive to Xbox LIVE, is finally heading to PC — and pre-orders will begin on April 22.

You’ll be able to pre-order both on Steam and on GOG.com, and pre-orders will be $9 instead of the $10 final sale price.

“With our patented pre-order technology, we take your money TODAY and give you something LATER!” screams the official announcement. “Spend money AND save money! AT THE SAME TIME!”

Fez has sold over 200,000 copies so far on XBLA alone.

Fez, the indie darling platformer wunderkind that delighted players (mostly) everywhere on the XBox 360 back in days of yore, is now finally headed to PC — and soon.

Phil Fish announced the release via Twitter, where it currently shows up with a release date of May 2.

No price has yet been announced, but it’s generally expected to come in around the $10 mark.

Fez

Players of Fez on the Xbox 360 may have found very occasionally that their save files would be corrupted and become unplayable, something that the game’s developers Polytron thought was fixed in their first patch – but turned out not to be.

Polytron posted a blog post explaining that they were not going to ‘patch the patch’, because it would cost them tens of thousands of dollars to get the second patch certified by Microsoft and the issue was only affecting less than 1% of players. (the blog post has since been removed, you can view a cached version here).

Microsoft have today come out in support of Polytron, saying the company is in the best position to judge what is best for Fez. Fez is, by all accounts, supposedly on its way to the PC as well – but no release date has ever been set.
