There.... was that really so hard BIS? Rage caused by tabbing could easily be fixed by making everything take 8-10 seconds or so to lock, simple way to simulate pilot identifying target, selecting weapon system, acquiring lock and firing. Main issue with tabbing was revealing all enemy vehicles and tab click tab click tab click tab click, 4 dead vehicles in 2 seconds at the most.

EXCEPT
F-CKING
SIDEWINDERS

Why do it for one weapon system and not another??? Don't do it again BIS or I will shake my fist so hard and furiously scribble numerous hate mails. Do it to ALL of them.

Consistency? from BIS? ha. Hell, a great solution would be to make tab-locking cycle through everything, not just enemies, but that would be too easy... Hopefully they'll decrease the effectiveness of flares a bit now, so it doesn't turn in to arma2 style 'press countermeasures to not die' while the enemy has to spam 100s of missiles...

I reckon they should just can the entire project based on their consistency to continually rehash the same old ****, and start a lawn mowing service.

Why not just add weapon resting to guns with bipods?

Sadly, I think it's up to the modder community to fully realize that potential. Heck, even BI has admitted that.

Have you had a run with CTB in ArmA 3 yet?

Cannot wait to do full campaigns in dat sexy new game engine.

I've been playing a lot on their public server but it's been mostly just Occupation with randoms from the cold. Monday we did a VTS session with Swordy running as the GM and it was actually quite good refreshing.

We quickly ran into the limitations of the beta though, There's only so many scenarios you can whip up on the fly when all you have to work with is Stratis and an incomplete asset set.

It's going to be amazing once it launches though people start making actual scenarios for it.

Takes time to implement and test, don't have enough time from the people who are familiar with that part of the engine. Remember that the game launches on Sep 12th, so they'll probably start disc manufacture next week in time for retail.

They took the time to model the BIPOD! Why they are rushing this out the door is beyond me when they had so many decent/cool features that they canned because they MUST release on September 12th.

Even that awful game that Freeborne hated aka Iron Front had weapon resting in it.

Speaking of modders doing BI's job Jarhead made a beta soundmod http://www.jsrs-studios.com/index.php/jsrs-studios/newsandupdates/199-jsrs2alpha-re1.html

Again?

If you think it was bad in the past, what do you think it will be like this time? (acknowledging what's different this time)
- Huge increase in customers (NFI, let's say 4x as many as ARMA2 on release)
- Many new customers are younger (i.e raging kids, not afraid to voice their displeasure on the interwebz)
- Newer and less loyal players (won't be as understanding)
- Unlike their previous titles, ARMA3 had 6 months of public testing to iron-out bugs.
- ARMA is now a main-stream 'household name' in gaming and will get a lot of coverage.

Any new on modding tools being available on release, or will we have to wait for that too, along with the SP missions and mods in Steam Workshop?

I look forward to playing the game you all make when you get sick of **** about things that I don't think any of us properly understand.

Yes, you're right, I do not understand their inability to make logical and simple improvements to their game.
