3DMark / 2013, let's roll!

Unread postby Cas Bitton » 5 Feb 13, 9:10 am

WHAT'S NEW IN 3DMARK?

The new 3DMark includes everything you need to benchmark Windows hardware. With three all new tests you can bench everything from tablets and notebooks to the latest high-end gaming desktops. It's the most powerful and flexible 3DMark we've ever created.

We designed 3DMark for gamers, overclockers and system builders who want to get the most out of their hardware. 3DMark is a complete PC benchmarking tool kit for those who are serious about performance. And it's no longer just for Windows. With 3DMark, you will be able to compare scores with Android, iOS and Windows RT devices too.

Today we are launching the Windows version of 3DMark. New versions for Android, iOS and Windows RT will follow soon, pending testing and app store approvals.

Did a quick test, says I need to fix my drivers. Also when I can finally stop paying to replace broken things and get back to buying things I actually want I will get my 2nd 670 and we will then see how it goes.. Image

For now, not bad but the 3rd test can be a bit taxing.

I'm sure Ball0fire will romp it home with a nice score though. ;)

the CPU is meant to be 2.66/2.7ish which is stock, not 1.8xx. In the first run I did this came out accurately but I got slightly lower scores so I post this one.

Yeah mines off too (Mine's at 3.6Ghz ish), we both have the older i7, so I guess it's just not detecting something correctly all the time.

Would be nice if people would post the link to their results. When the benchmark finishes, you should see a webpage with your result. Copy and paste the URL in the address bar into this thread.

Here's mine (yours will look similar but with a different number on the end).

AMD Radeon 7970 @ 925 Mhz (core) / 1375 Mhz (memory)
Intel Core i7-860 Processor @ 2,942 Mhz
ASUSTeK Maximus III GENE
2 x 2048 MB Corsair DDR3 @ 667 Mhz

edit: And running a minor overclock on the 7970 (stock 975Mhz core vs 1000 Mhz clocked core),

Not a particularly noticeable difference, TBH.

In your results page for the sub-tests, at top right is a button labelled "Other results in 3DMark run". Click it and it takes you to the joint results page.

I'm still amazed at some of these results, especially from the newer i7 chips. I'll admit though, I overclocked mine to 4.5 GHz per core which makes a substantial difference :P

Graphics card clearly suffers though but it's fine in games. *pats faithful GTX580* still doin me proud :)
