Can't full screen embeded youtube videos? You can fix it!

This came up in another thread, and I thought more people might be having the same issue.

If you're unable to fullscreen embedded youtube videos (Such as the ones on the forums, or in news posts), this is caused by the youtube HTML 5 functionality.

If you opt out of it at http://youtube.com/html5/ and click "Leave the HTML5 Trial", once you refresh the forums/newsposts/whatever has the embedded videos, you'll have the full screen button back.

While on the subject of fullscreening Youtube vids...

As someone who used to post a lot of game vids on Youtube, I have been curious about how many people do actually watch them fullscreen and in HD rather than the standard 360? To be honest I only ever watch them in the standard view at 360p.

So my question would be to others, do you watch Youtube in fullscreen, or just the standard view/res?

The larger player at 480p for general watching, or full screen at 720/1080p for movie/game trailers, ones I'm really keen on will get a 1080p watch generally.

And usually i'll fullscreen at 480p as I find the standard window much too small. If I want the quality ala if it's a movie trailer i'll go 720p but I never go 1080p as I don't have the quota.

When expectations are low or simply unknown, I just play it while embedded at 360p.

When I'm expecting something half decent I'll go to YouTube and use the larger 480p mode.

The only time I use fullscreen/HD is when expectations are high or I've already seen it and know how awesome it is

The only time I watch Youtube in fullscreen is on my 360.

I just use Chrome Youtube Downloader to download any vids I want to watch fullscreen and watch em on my Bravia

Anything I fullscreen I'll run at 720p if it's available, otherwise the extra pixelation annoys me too much.

Nice to get some info. Seems 1080 is generally a waste of time and effort mostly as I always expected, and that 720 normally is enough with a lot still using 480.

Personally I have never had fast enough internet to watch 1080 HD Youtube without annoying buffering pauses, so rarely bother to even change up from the default, though like some have said if its something good I will fire it up in 720.

I use Internet Download Manager and select the res then watch on the WD media center on the big TV, very good for showing the wife new movie trailers.

360p in small player, 480p in larger player, 1080p in full-screen (unlimited usage ftw).
