As someone who preferred AC1 to AC2 is that a good or bad thing? I've been distracted lately (what else is new -_-) so still going through Revelations atm.

Are you enjoying Revelations more than AC2? If so you'll probably like AC3.

Has anyone found a good price for the pc version yet (pre-order naturally)? Steam is charging a hideous amount as per usual...

Been too long since i've played AC2 though I think it was better than Revelations atm. One of the big annoyances for me is that it's only set in a single city though.

The game is mainly set in Boston and New York which aren't particularly different from each other, unlike the different cities in AC2. I was more referring to the narrative/gameplay component - AC2 was more assassin/killing focussed with few sidequests whereas Revelations had a lot more side quests/training stuff going on.

I found 3 overall to be a bit meh. The only thing I found better was the improved enemy AI which actually looks up now when you drop a body on their heads or pick them off with a ranged weapon.

Definitely agreeing that 2 was the best of the series.

At least now we know where Desmond gets his lack of personality from. Connor is so amazingly dull.

Haha, agree. Another reason why I love AC2.

Hidden: show
AC2 showcased the wonderful journey of a womanising Italian young man who found himself thrust into the Assassin vs Templar war through the death of his father and brothers. Connor just came across as an impetuous angry man who sadly had little character development.

Finally got my hands on AC3 .. Wow, what a complete disappointment and thank god I didnt pay for it (ps3 borrow).

I couldnt get past the beginning.. I DIDNT EVEN PLAY AS CONNOR. It had the MGS4 syndrome to me where I spent more time watching cut scenes then I did actually playing. Then, when it did finally decide to give me control I found myself barely playing rather just walking towards an objective. I couldnt handle it.

Which is such a shattering feeling, after %100 AC1, 2 and Brotherhood.. to not finishing AC:R and barely even playing AC3 .. My beloved has fallen.

My friend said to me it picks up pace, but I couldnt take it any longer, especially since it doesnt evolve into a magical game just an average.

AC III wasn't certainly the best game but it wasn't also the worst. It got confusing at times but meh.. It needed alot of improvements.

If you're only counting the main games then yes it is the worst by a worrying large margin. I mean of course those weird random NDS or PSP Assassin's Creed games are gonna be worse but who even plays those ones? :?

I have to agree that AC 3 was the worst AC game from the main series (AC, AC 2, AC BH, AC R). I didnt enjoy the story as much as I did AC 1 - Revelations. It seemed "rushed" to me and most things won't tied up or some events that were mentioned in the previous games were "changed" in AC 3.

I was really disappointed.

Is it true they want to bring out a new one each year? Whatever happened to quality over quantity...
I buy my brothers the AC games, but stopped by the time Rev & AC3 came out, and not sure if I should bother with either. They can be fussy, and I'd rather not waste money on something they just won't enjoy. From what I can read above, MAYBE revalations is good?
