The fundamentalist types should be immediately deported back to a country governed by Shia Law we dont want their hatred here in this country.

If you want to workship Allah then fine, but do so peacefully ffs!

That's all fine. But where do we send the fundamentalist christian types, or any other denomination for that matter?

Where do you deport an Australian Muslim?
Lets just say Anthony Mundine become a Fundamentalist Muslim, where does he get deported to?

I will add that the Muslim community has condemned the actions of the minority and see it as doing them no favors at all, only opening the door to bigoted hatred of an already misunderstood belief system.

Good letter in the SMH today: "Muslims and Christians have at least one thing in common. Both are outraged by films they have never seen."

Well my two cents is this:

It is true that it is only a small minority of Muslims responsible, but at the same time it is interesting to listen to the "moderate" response. Reading an article by one of our Muslim parliamentarians he was essentially saying that the riots are bad but that we should make this kind of film illegal and jail/fine those who made it and ban the film. I don't know about the rest of you but it seems to be the same response just with a more civilised expression...

IMO the video was in bad taste but still as has been mentioned it's a completely out of proportion response. Slightly ironically the protests have mainly served to publicise the video. I imagine if there hadn't been any riots it would of only got a handful of views...

As opposed to a succession of state attorneys general who believe video games that offend them should be banned (and, in many cases, get their wish fulfilled)? Welcome to society - people consistently attempting to impose their viewpoints on others. :)

Not that I in any way agree... for these examples. Plenty of other instances in which my desires may run contrary to others and I think that xyz should be banned/legislated against. All part of the push and shove of communal living.

Rumor is that Al Qaeda was behind the riot in Libya and Egypt and were using the "protesters" as a cover to get revenge for Osama Bin Laden. I think their reaction to this offensive video got way out of control. I however am not taking a side in this I do however believe the person who uploaded the YT video should be punished for what he did only because innocent people (such as an American embassador) were killed in the "protest". News reports have said the uploader remains anonymous and exaggerates the facts in his videos. Surely it cant be too hard to track the uploader as a YT account requires email which are traceable.

It's unlikely a coincidence that the killing of the US diplomats happened when they did, though it could also easily have just been an act of opportunity or bad luck on their part.

Why should the uploader be punished for something someone else did? That's just idiotic scapegoating. The people who made the video did nothing wrong. The protestors who acted so far out of proportion did.

Having seen the video I have now changed my opinion. As if anyone took that seriously? It was so bad I struggled to watch it more than a few seconds.

It is going around that the movie is not a movie at all, rather just a 14 minute clip.
The film maker Sam Bacile appears to not exist.
Claiming to be Jewish/American with the five million dollars raised from rich Jewish donors, this clip itself looked like it was made just to stoke the fire

There are now so many stories appearing about this subject it is hard to keep up.

Is the whole thing as bad as the short version? I don't think I could sit through another Iron Sky, trying to decide the whole time whether the movie is trying to be funny or just bad.

What I want to know is who had enough stamina to sit through it long enough to get offended by anything in the first place.

I truly believe if you sat the people down who have been up in arms over it and got them to watch the whole thing they'd feel pretty **** stupid to have ever gotten upset. That or they were angry to start with and were just looking for an excuse, but I don't know what to do about irrational people.
