Waterfalls - Vic

Waterfalls - Vic

Unread postby Cozi » 20 Aug 12, 10:11 pm

Hey all,

Need to find some really good waterfalls and was hoping someone know may a some? Preferably in Victoria but if you know of one in a different state that is amazing still feel free to post it.

Looking for one that has a rather large pool at the bottom and you must be able to swim in it.

If anyone knows where the one in the below video clip is that would be good, its at 2:35

Hidden: show

Note: The video is hidden for a reason, sorry for putting people though that if you decided to check.

The city skyline at 3:27 will be the best bet to identify it, not Sydney area at a guess looking at skyline outline.

I'd say Brisbane but I wouldn't know seeing I'm in Victoria, they have Queensland number plates.

Lake Barrine Crater Lakes National Park. Millaa Millaa Falls.

I know there is a few at the Grampians, but I'm unsure on if you can swim at the bases of them.

This is the Internet - it caters for niche interests...

http://www.world-of-waterfalls.com/australia.html (found it the other day when looking for details on Gibraltar Falls here in ACT... Went for a last walk before the ankle fusion...)

This looks promising
http://www.world-of-waterfalls.com/aust ... falls.html

or this
http://www.world-of-waterfalls.com/aust ... falls.html

and this one if there is flow
http://www.world-of-waterfalls.com/aust ... falls.html
but not too much flow...

When I used to live in QLD I used to really enjoy going to Kondalilla Falls National Park.

You can swim in it and jump off into in from the rocks up a bit higher.

Just because it fits so well with the topic...

There's a road in Northern NSW called the Waterfall Way - runs about 200k inland from the coast (between Coffs Harbour and Urunga) to Armidale.

Wikipedia reports it as NSW's best and Australia's third most beautiful scenic drive...

We've driven it - but without stopping - to make sure my wife was awake and alert on the third day of a road trip.

It would make a spectacular bike ride - Something where you fly ride (observing posted speed limits and warnings) up through the windy, pretty scenery... and then come back down stopping to look at all the waterfalls that you can get to...

I went to school in Armidale and rode the pushy down the hill from Dorrigo to Bellingen about 6 times. It's pretty mad if you just want to get to the bottom because you are overtaking cars  The best swimming spot is a place called the Blue Hole, which is basically a string of waterfalls all that you can swim in, smooth slippery rocks that act like natural waterslides etc. Its pretty cool.

I think I'll take the bus!
