It's a strange thing, because we tested dropping items out the end of the pipe and onto an obsidian pipe, and that worked, but as soon as we put a straight line say from chest to chest the items would teleport backwards in the pipes and be stuck in there forever

They should work just fine...

You're not using iron pipes, are you?

Nope, just regular cobblestone and wooden pipes with redstone engines. Was really strange, I'll try again later on today and see if it was just a temporary thing.

Hey guys I'm one of the "couple of friends" just here to say our issue with pipes seems to have magically resolved itself. No real clue what caused it but it's all water under the bridge now anyway.

I think its also worth saying we're really not new to tekkit, we have a home based server we all use, so I can assure you it certainly wasn't working as it should. Obsidian pipes seemed to be the only ones that would let stuff be put in a chest, which was very odd.
Just might be something to keep an eye out for those of you with elaborate systems set up! Hopefully we won't see that again.

don't put equivalent exchange tools/power items into redpower deployers and expect them to NOT CRASH your client

Has the server been dropping out lately, or is it just me?

The server's down again. Can someone caress it gently and speak kind words to it so that it comes back online?

Update: Thank you :D

Thankyou glorious overlord.

FYI for everyone, Faction is working just great and it is patched so that EE won't bypass it. Which means, if you protect something, it should be totally protected.

And now with logging, if someone does find a way to break it, we will catch them...

Factions is very easy to use to claim land:

(now I hope I remember these commands correctly)

Type /f to find out about it, and try /f help 1,2,3,4 etc

/f create <faction name> -- creates your very own faction...

/f claim -- claims the chunk you are standing in - by default you can claim (I believe) 10 chunks, so make them count...

/f SC -- lets you see the chunk boundaries (you can also enable chunk boundaries grid in Rei's Minimap)

/f invite <playername> -- Invite your friend to join your faction..

/f join <faction-name> -- accept the invitation..

/f sethome -- essentially like the /sethome command on the Vanilla server - sets a home for your faction

/f home -- travel instantly to your home! woo

http://massivecraft.com/plugins/factions for more :)

Don't abuse it. Don't claim land other people are clearly already in. Let's play nicely... :)

I was punching a tree when my modem disconnected me and reset. After power cycling it twice I was able to get on the net again to find I could not get a connection to the server. I hope the two problems are not somehow related.
