One of my friends has a BlackWidow Ultimate propped up, and I find it really hard to type on.

yeah, you have to **** your wrists to type on propped up boards. I don't get it tbh, way more comfortable flat :)

Yeah Environmental Health and Safety at work forbids it, stuffs your wrists and shoulders up so badly!

Well they stopped me doing it and my wrists don't hurt anywhere near as much anymore and my back and shoulders aren't being affected. It seems silly and trivial, but when I'm sitting here in a busy period, doing a 10 hour day and only leaving the desk for maybe 15 mins 2-3 times, it makes a massive difference. It even changed the way I use my PC at home :)

I've had keyboards on their propped up feet thingies for as long as I can remember! I just find it a bit more comfortable for me.

I've had mine propped up when I've had membrane keyboards and when I'm using a public computer (uni), but the Ducky I have atm sits fairly high when not propped up so I leave it flat.

The extra benefit of less wrist-strain is a bonus too!

Another leg up... ;) With a flat membrane board.

The second one looks like candy

Are they keys in the first just regular keys (as in not transparent)? Are they white or yellow? I've been looking at getting some keys for the ol' Duck but not sure what would work with the backlighting

The keys in both pictures are the same. They are made of POM material. They are often called Jelly POM rainbow keys on Ebay, due to them looking like jelly lollies.

Looking at getting a new keyboard of the mechanical variety.

Have considered Ducky or WASD boards, what should I look at getting? I'm mainly an FPS player, I rarely play anything else and if I do it's probably a console game.

Looked at a WASD with Cherry MX Black switches and custom keys etc. Thoughts?

I gotta say, I was originally put off of the black switches, everyone saying they are bad to type on. But I recently got a CM Storm with Cherry Black's for my lanbox, and it is pretty amazing! They are really nice to game on, still has the mechanical feel, but with a straight up and down movement. As for the WASD board, I've never ordered one, but I have ordered keycaps from them, and they were very good quality.
