NBN in my area was meant to have been completed 4 months ago. Haven't even heard anything about it apart from that there was a community Q&A meeting about it at some point last year.

Just checked and noticed that only one place in SA that is built (not counting new developments) even has NBN. NBNCo SA seems a bit slack.

Yeah, I'm in a new suburb of Canberra, the downside is we're forced to go with TransACT/Grapevine. I'm pretty sure Grapevine is included in the iinet freezone too.

the new connections on the nbn might be in the freezone; the old vdsl transact connections like mine aren't atm, hopefully one day.

I'm being fighting a massive urge to play EVE Online lately. I loved that game but it's pretty impossible to play without friends. Last night I watched all three Clear Skies, those are so awesome.

Yeah, it's the same in WA sadly. They blame all the new construction and rural towns that have all these new developments because of miners. Not to mention they aren't focusing on the black spots first.

It's really frustrating because I am trying to buy an apartment and out of the three suburbs I'm looking at well.. one was meant to be the first place in WA to get NBN but it's still listed as 'under construction'. One is on the three year plan and one isn't listed at all but a huge black spot so internet choices are well... yeah...

Re NBN in SA, it took a bit longer than the other states to finalise the construction contracts here. As far as I know there are plenty of connections in Willunga though.

I just had a quick look at my usage and it says it says I've used freezone data, this is quite possibly the best news ever. Unmetered GoN and Steamy goodness at these speeds? Yes please.

I always find it the opposite. The many bar jobs I do see, they wont hire locals and will hire tourists instead.

or the Irish. actually I read a news thingy about it how Australia "is desperately trying to get Irish bar workers in and understaffed"

....maybe if you werent so god damn picky you'd have employees. Suffice to say I will be harassing employers when I move.
