I'll probs stuff it up and end up having to disguise maccas as my own food.

well there you go.
made a massive number of Kapur hardwood doors and windows. they look beautiful.
all based on the plans of the builder, and everything doublechecked along the way. we have drawings, plans all with the sizes.

builder picked it all up...and called me a few hours ago. all the heights are wrong.

so, went to clarify - and this......person... measures his heights from the top of a sill to the bottom of the head.
its the first time any of us have ever seen someone measure like this (and they will be paying for it).
its like measuring how tall you are from the top of your knee to the bottom of your top teeth.

he doesn't want to add timber to the head or sill, so we need to make entirely new doors and windows - this is going to be incredibly expensive for this builder. and they look so damn beautiful! its a freaking tragedy.

the whole thing just makes me scratch my head.

Out of curiosity, were the technical drawing measurements shown from the top of the sil to the bottom of the head?

nope.
full drawings of each window, door and door frame.
next to each diagram is the dimensions. as per standard window and door schedule.

yeah i think so. he is about my age so quite young for a builder (im 32). ive never seen measurements done like that, not have any of my older workers... so yeah an expensive mistake based on inexperience.
