Finally submitted a Membership Application for the Rural Fire Service, now to wait.. been thinking about doing it for a while, they had an open day to try to recruit members locally a few months ago that I couldn't make, and they're having another one this weekend that I also can't make so maybe they're desperate, but it's given me the kick start I needed to get an application in.

We went with something more relaxed - I stood up and said "My Wife and I would like to thank everybody - anybody who wishes to speak may - speeches will be controlled by our Serjeant-at-Arms" then sat down.

First person to stand was exactly who we expected - our 2Metre 130 kilo Hulk of a S-a-A blew a whistle and yellow carded him before he opened his mouth... much hilarity ensued and people who wanted to, stood and talked - nobody felt pressured.
