Hey disco ..
Im going to assume you have brought apropriate speakers for your deck/amp...
Is it one speaker or all speakers ? (fade/balance to isolate and try each speaker)
You have wired it all with correct polarity ?
How close are the speaker leads to the power leads ?
Any chance your new leads are shorting somewhere on the chassis ?

It's both speakers, it also happened to the older speakers once this head deck went in (guessing its the head unit), the speaker leads are just next to the power lead (which is normal I thought, since they're all jammed in together?), as for shorting out, I don't "think" so, I've checked everything I can and everything is taped up and should be okay.

I've really got NFI what the problem is, initially I thought it was a bad earth, but I've rectified that and it made no difference - with the new speakers I can play it a little louder before it crackles, but they still crackle.

Got me stumped.

You have to reroute the main auxiliary power, then reverse the polarity, and then ENHANCE.

Just means positive to positive, negative to negative. I've heard of high quality speakers being blown at high volumes because of a positive to negative wiring somewhere, but i don't know how much truth there is to that. Cheap speakers may be the cause, but have you checked the speakers aren't vibrating/rattling inside the enclosure?

Disclaimer: I (quite obviously) know jack all about car audio.

Don't think so.
You should be able to use http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/2012/live-video if you also use http://tunlr.net/get-started/ (just change your DNS on your network adapter and you're set, do remember to change it back to your ISP's afterwards though).

I haven't played around with it much, but it allows you to stream heaps of other USA/UK pay tv channels. In which case, i'm guessing no. Quite handy but unfortunately iPlayer and BBC buffer every 30 seconds for me, even though i'm on a 13mbit connection.

on and re-the power lead, most aftermarket kits you have an amp in the cars boot, its advisable to run power cables as far away as possible from speaker cables, interference can occour if you run them side by side.. wont always happen, but it can, just safer to run audio cables down beside the doors and battery -> amp power in underneith center console.

Wiring speakers wrong ie: positive onto negative and negative to positive won't blow speakers it will just reverse the phase in/out and will sound quite different.
