Is the whole thing as bad as the short version? I don't think I could sit through another Iron Sky, trying to decide the whole time whether the movie is trying to be funny or just bad.

Keep seeing people join the "You want a riot? 'WE'LL SHOW YOU A RIOT" (or something) Facebook group encouraging a meetup of I assume anglo Australians at Hyde Park this weekend, not a good idea.

I am all for the Police teargassing the **** out of this "protest"

They aren't even protesting against anything... what do they want to happen? the internet to be shut down? Just because someone made a movie you don't like? I don't remember Australia being up in arms when Kath and Kim released a movie.

And furthermore, Should we remove ALL ""offensive" content from the internet? an internet without offensive content is not an internet I want to be a part of :P

Edit: Protesting is fine, if you're part of a group committed to making a positive change. Petitioning the internet is about as effective as pissing into the wind.

If they were petitioning to have all child pornography taken off of the internet, then I'd probably be in full support. Perhaps we should petition all Islamic embassies calling for equality between women and men... see how far that gets us.

So funny... I used to live in Sydney and these are the dickheads running around shooting each others family members.... I do know a few Muslims and they are ordinary peoples just like you and me.. Will add I can just bet there are a zillion vids of Jesus etc being slagged off by Extremist Muslims LOL So should Christians launch a Jihad? Personally I am an atheist and would maybe go Buddhism...
Too much damn religion in this world pushing ideas...

I want to live in a place where religion is openly ridiculed, common sense is deemed the predominant way of thought and people don't bow to minority groups as the needs of the many outweigh the few.

You do realise that, rightly or wrongly, people who want religion expunged from society are a minority, right? :)

But maybe if we're loud enough they'll think we're in the majority! Seems to be the only way to get politicians to do things...

There was a good editorial in the SMH today that I think sheds some light on the issue:
http://www.smh.com.au/opinion/society-a ... 264l1.html

Still doesn't do much to address my opinion that it would simply be best if all these religions just went away...

That's the problem, they all already got sent to the United States, unfortunately there's no "new world" to send the dickheads to any more.

So if you don't agree with something you can ridicule as much as you want?

I on the other hand want to live in a society where mutual respect is encouraged, especially with minority groups. I think a quote from John Stuart Mill is quite apt here:

"That which seems the height of absurdity in one generation often becomes the height of wisdom in the next."
