FTL: Faster Than Light

Seemed like at least a few of us have picked this up, and seeing as I've been playing, enjoying and getting owned I thought we might be able to help each other out a bit :P

Firstly I really love this game already. If you're not sure what I'm on about check this out, it convinced me pretty quickly lol

So far I've only made it to the third sector and even if I've handled everything prior with ease I'll get owned by the first thing I come across with souped-up weaponry. My basic strategy is to man the bridge, guns and shields, and then hammer their weapons with everything I've got. Usually works pretty well but if one of my key systems go down or I catch on fire it snowballs pretty quickly.

Oh well, share your thoughts and secrets :)

Ive been up to the final boss and failed miserably. That being said the game has its flaws, such as being forced to move on fairly quickly. I have a little bit of a gripe of its length but what version is it 1.01 or something.

Fun little game though.

it would be nice to be able to plod around a bit more. I think the length is OK though, gonna take me ages to unlock everything :P

I can't stop playing this game. Steam says I've played it for 38 hours so far, but I think I left it running when I crawled into bed at 3am. The "just one more game" score is off the chart for this one.

I was honestly thinking of piking on a mate yesterday to log more hours in this. Had to pull myself away from it last night too to make sure I got to bed. Only put in 6 hours so far but it's just.... awesome :D

It's good fun, got to Sector 8 but got owned by the Flagship.

Did manage to unlock the Stealth Fighter though!

I bought it since everyone was raving about it, but am not seeing the huge deal.
Its not bad, but im not finding it that addictive either.

Dieing happens extremely often, no ability to load your game, you basically lose a whole heap of time every time you die.
It's not boring, but I can't help but feel ive wasted my money a little bit? :\

Saving would ruin this game imho. Well maybe not ruin, but it would make it worse.

You can save your game and exit to come back to it later, but it's meant to be Rogue-like in that you do the best you can and then start over and try to do better the next time.
I usually play through it once or twice at a time, depending on how far I get. Then think about all the ways things went wrong and how I'll do better next time. :)
