Dust felt like old CSS times with lots of people, but Italy just felt crowded, even though there's many paths and it's actually a large map.

I have to say 6v6 or 7v7 might feel "better".

But it was indeed strange, going from "hey only 5v5, what gives?" to "oh wow, more than 5v5, this feels too hectic and stuff"

yeah, I actually like the 5v5. For me I've never really enjoyed the large CS frag-fests

Yeah, pretty much! There would always be that familiar feeling that you can relate to especially if you've played either CS or CSS. But I admit I fell in love with CSGO considering the fact that it's been so long since I last play CSS.

Just an update, had a VERY quick go last night and it seems they've made a lot of refinements to the weapon handling for the better. Worth another run if you've been leaving it alone.

A bit late but going to jump on this GO band wagon.

I liked it, Very different to the broken CSS we play.I liked the movements the shooting the grenades the maps the graphics. Remembering it's only beta so it can only get even better :)

I like the fact that you can play gun-game without any mods, and it is easily accessible. I find the bots a bit too good, (unless i suck XD).
I find that the weapons can be a tad inaccurate and floaty, except for the shotguns, they have a nice feel to them.

Are they bringing back the physics? I just realised now no barrels rolling or wood breaking, corpses don't move either! I am enjoying CSGO so far, I have sucked at CS my whole life but for 13 bucks it is great so far.

This game is about a 10 out of 10 times better than CSS and I wish CSS came out like this in the first place feels more like 1.6 in skills.

I'll make my thoughts known more broadly in an article later, but the general feel is that I like CS:GO a lot more than Source (currently, not talking about how awful Source was when it launched in 05), although there's still a ways to come.

Seems like there's been another update released this morning. There's a training centre included from the main menu; very similar to the bootcamp stage from Half Life: Opposing Force, complete with a COD-esque speed level.

It's good.

I'll be honest, not a fan! I had high hopes and this feels weird to play. I used to play HEAPS of CSS (a bit of 1.6 but my memory of it isn't that good) and CS:GO just feels... severely dated! No bobbing feels strange and unnatural (much easier for aiming though!) and the soundscape is thin and harsh, like AM radio. I don't know, perhaps I've been playing way too much BF3 which, love it or hate it, is a much better looking and sounding game.

Gah, I hate listening to myself say that because I normally like to be positive but I just couldn't shake my dislikes. Don't even get me started on that Buy menu, I'm sure it's something anyone could get used to but I found it just awful to use and ended up using Auto Buy (oh the shame)! Then there's the hit reg (or lack there of), there'd be some guy spraying me from metres away and I'm still alive, then other times a headshot from the other side of the map just as I round a corner! The usual levelling up of players to AWPs was the final straw, I prefer close quarter battles with assault rifles etc., rather than sniping, it just feels less cheap.

Anyway, that's just my opinion and perhaps you guys like it for the reasons I don't - that's cool, so long as you get your money's worth then that's all that matters! I did a blind purchase and decided to check out the beta, perhaps after some more time has passed I'll check back in and see what the final product is like but I'm expecting this to just sit unused in my Steam list sadly.

As for rego, its not called spray and PRAY for no reason. CS has always been about controlled bursts and for a lot of players this takes a while to get used to. Its funny in CSS I always found the models too fat, the hit boxes too wide and the movement sluggish like running through honey. CSGO is a return to form IMO.

Once you are dead press ` (make sure you turned dev console on in options) it will tell you how many times you hit your target.

No bob is great, I'm not sure what bob adds to a game. This isnt a sim.

Sound is the last thing they have set to tweak, its only just had a decent update and was even worse before. I'm pretty sure they'll get it right, Hidden Path have been very good with updates so far.

Remember guys it is a beta, feedback should be given on the forums. Each update has been excellent so far and their transparency has also been above par in terms of what they are fixing and what they are aware of.

this, the rego is fantastic and the skill required to actually land shots is as high as ever.

the guy who missed was a noob, the guy that hit you knows what he's doing. Its why CS is still the most popular online shooter in the world.

That being said, all the servers did lag up the other day and rego was awful :D
