Batman - Arkham City

I'd hold off on the Robin & Nightwing DLC unless you like playing those challenge maps. I was hoping for the ability to roam as Robin/NW in the main game like Catwoman and have a few side missions included. But alas, you can only play those characters in the separate challenge maps.

Yeah agree. I don't mind the challenge maps but I'm not sure that playing them as Robin or Night Wing will make them any different.

Now if you had the Robin DLC, it would have been good if you could finish off the game as Robin after the Catwoman option, depending on what decision is made.

Was just about to jump in and start on the challenges having finished everything in the main game last night. Guess what though? GFWL strikes again. retarded piece of **** rectal sputum has deleted my saved game - presumably punishing me for having a flaky internet connection.

goddamned **** **** abortion bucket overflow of an application.

Well i am having a great time with this game! 1st in the series. Just beat down Jokers thugs and now the modes switched to catwomen again.

I am doing a fair few of the side quests as I go and getting pretty distracted with the riddler trophies and random **** in between. About 35% - 40% through the main game now I think, didnt check before I quit out.

Its a good game. Anyone else getting terrible FPS dropps, stutters etc?

I am running the two GTX570's (in both standard and SLI mode) to see how this game reacts and really, one GTX570 is more then enough (console port no brainer dictates this I guess) and with SLI i dont notice any help at 1920/1200. The game really seems to crawl to 2-10fps some times (according to EVGA Precision) and there seems no real need.

I would get this on my PS3 probably if I had to buy it, to the console players, are the CONTROLS better then for the mouse? I find the dicky middle mouse button always getting in the way and ruining strikes and combos. time to remap it I think!!!

The best the game has to offer is in dx10 mode until they patch the FPS drops in DX11.

You can still run DX10 maxed without stutters and with ur physx on.
You edit an INI file,Documents\WB Games\Batman Arkham City\BmGame\Config
UserEngine.ini
Set AllowD3D10=TRUE & AllowD3D11=False
Hidden: show

Anyone have any problems with disappearing save games? Completed both the main game and all the side quests and also the main quest of the New Game Plus mode. Next time I start the game and my save game slot is empty. Had to start all over again.

I had to get mine running in hybrid physX before I could get rid of the lag

Don't know why, before my physx was off, and i had massive lag, installed the hybrid patch, and physx was on high and i was getting about 30fps with everything maxed in dx11

Ah well ! Since the treads been resurrected I'll use this opportunity to vent -

Stupid, stupid DRM - Put disk in = 55sec DRM check. Leave disk in when shutting down = 55 sec lag in booting to Windows
(no DVD boot option set in BIOS). Click on shortcut to start game = another 55 sec DRM check - BORING....
Yes, I hear you all laughing and nah, nahing - 'Shoulda got it for more money on Steam' .

Hand holding - even with 'hints' turned off. In your face prompts.
No! I don't want to use the remote control batarang just now. I want to open that door over there with the electrical thingy. Stuff you game I'm doing it anyway even with the prompt in the middle of the screen and the full sentence higher up telling me about the usefulness of the remote batarang I've been using since way back early in the game, and another sentence down low about - who friggin cares I want to play it MY WAY. Go away, leave me alone.
OK, OK, Casual games want their hands held, so goes the corporate theory, but can't we turn it off if we don't want it ?
No ! Says big bro Ryan Combine.

Aside from that I like the game as much as Bats AA. Plenty of Riddler trophies, and maybe more use of vertical space
than the the much hyped verticality of Crysis 2. Gliding through the rings is a nice retro touch.
Takes me back to Starfox , Lawnmower Man and the like.
No issues with the way the game runs on max settings (motion blur off).
An advantage in being a late buyer from what I see above.
