Did they fix the exploded pit = instant death when you get near it bug?

I have not heard anything about this working yet - I'll have to catch up on the latest when I read my emails next :P

They released two patches today, one bigger one to fix some major bugs, and then a 2nd tiny one that fixed a mvm-related server setting to be as documented. Both have been applied to all of our servers.

I played on one of normal missions earlier today and thought it was fairly easy. About 2 hours ago I joined a new game of "advanced" difficulty on that same map (the coal museum one). and man, it was extremely rough. After 2 hours the furthest we made it was round 3. Not sure what we were doing wrong.

either way - keen for the advanced mode, sounds tough!

Was great fun CapnSilver!

Looks like we'll need to bump up the server time limits...

Sounds good. Would unlimited time be too much? If people are aware of the in-built voting option if everyone gets frustrated they can vote for different maps/difficulties.

That's not a bug.
See when the pit explodes a kill trigger placed around it is active the entire time.
If the game doesn't reset when the pit blows and the defenders loose, then this trigger doesn't deactivate.
That problem will fix itself with the round restart bug fixed.

I've configured all of the MvM servers to have no time limits.

Also, I think voting is allowed on all of them now.

I'm curious how you actually join a game, if I go through the matchmaking thingo It never gives me a estimated time and just keeps saying searching for servers. If I use the server browser it tells me the server doesn't allow direct connections and that you have to use matchmaking. How do any of you join these things?

Awesome - thanks! Played the advanced maps last night, if you don't have a team that knows what they're doing, it's insanely hard. Much more fun though.

Can we set the server to have a higher max player count? When the bots are in the server, they seem to fill up the slots so even though there is only 4 human players, it says there's 27/6 playing, so 2 more people can't join. The GA servers run 32 player max so if more than 6 people join, they goto spectators, seems to work ok.

Be nice if there were more waves so you can get a chance to upgrade a bit more.

The max player count is 32, but only 6 are visible.

Could probably bump this up a bit... but I don't know how it'll affect bots?

You're not meant to be able to sit in spec, that's a sign of an incorrectly setup server. Valve need to sort it out so the game ignores the bots for the player count, much as L4D ignores the zombies.

Or give better instructions to the server admins so they can make them all work proper!

The hlds mailing lists were all over the place with people trying to get it right. Nobody really had a conclusive answer last I looked (Friday)

Had my first real go on a clan server. It was pretty fun, though I think normal multiplayer will always have a place in my heart.
