Well, I have purchased a server through Vilayer today. They have recently setup an AU presence, so I am just waiting for them to install Dayz on the box :D. If anyone is interested in the details let me know :D. My only concern is that since it is AU that I won't be able to get onto my own server when its busy

Where is it hosted? Do you promise not to kick players for your own advantage? If it gets popular enough, I might convince my gang to switch over. Also how much is it costing you?

Its hosted by Vilayer. Normally its ~$60AU a month, but they have a 25% discount on at the moment, so it is $43.90 a month. And correct, I have no plans to kick or ban people unless they are clearly doing something against the DayZ rules.

The only thing which I might look to ask of people (without really being able to enforce it) is to not blow up peoples tents/vehicles if they come across them. Noone wants to setup a camp only to come back to some cretin destroying it on them :P.

Dependent on popularity I might look at setting up a website/easy way for people to get a hold of someone if people are misbehaving.

Well logged in this morning to find our entire campsite gone. Tents, ATV, Bus all gone. I don't know if someone stole our vehicles and decided they'd blow up our tents too, or if the server just had a fit and ate it.

Either way, I am sad :(

Mostly friends and family. We're 4-5 strong most nights. We're all kitted up so we're kind of lost for ideas.

have not had any problems joining servers since i started using dayz commander... it tells me to do stuff, and i smile and nod.

have many people had a look at lingor island yet? it's not supported by the dayz peoples so all of the servers are private hives..
but imo it's at least worth a look if you're bored with chernarus and waiting for standalone.

DayZ commander always crashes my internet, and nobody can figure out why :S

Lingor seems like it has a higher "loot density". I tried it a while ago but couldn't get into it.

Ugh. I just loaded up and refreshed the server browser without filters - nothing below 175 ping came up. The NZ/AUS servers are invisible.

Use dayzCommander already, once i clicked the "hide unresponsive" checkbox I've never once gotten stuck on loading.

Yeah DayZ Commander is the way to go. It has much better filtering options and the ability to rollback dayz or arma beta versions within the browser, handy if you're wanting to play on a server that is yet to be updated.
