Is it possible to have the item 'watch of flowing time' disabled?
There is a good suggestion in this thread of how to do it using PermissionsEX:
http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/s ... ver.11260/
There are certain people on the server that love to 'rewind time' to make it endlessly day - and it lags the hell out of everything.
This would probably also let you disable the 'anchors' also.

I agree Burkeh, the lag is getting pretty bad at times. Is anyone else having trouble logging into tekkit atm?

Nvm, just saw that the authentication servers are down

G'day all,

I just realise there is a Tekkit server! Yes im slow I know!

Anyway, just jumped on-line to check it out and it looks awesome. Hope to be able to play on the server a bit! :)

BTW, im asking here for confirmation, I have a YouTube cahnnel, www.youtube.com/piedudeaus and im Partner with Machinima and was just wondering IF it was possible to record while playing on the server sometimes? I don't want to offend anyone and have no problems if told not to, hence me asking. :)

Cheers!

Argh found another old base with world anchors with chests FULL and machines still going.
I think the anchor needs to be disabled, or have them globally removed so active players can replant theirs.

Disabling teleport-tether and world-anchor in favour of the per-player limited dimensional-anchor might be a great improvement. Given the frequency in which abandoned bases with anchors are discovered a global ban on all anchor type devices, or a global purge, doesn't seem unreasonable.

Hey Eppiox, how do you decide which bases are abandoned? There's a base near mine that hasn't changed in the last 2 weeks, but I'd hate to "recycle" someone's stuff, only to have them come back on :?

Hi all I am starting an Australian Tekkit server and would like some feedback and ideas
am interested in what specifications some of your servers are and how many people you are able to run

I will have the Tekkit server on a dedicated xeon hyperthreaded quad core with, ssd hard drive and fibre optic link
At this stage I will be disabling things like quarries nukes and world anchors we really don’t want to limit the Tekkit experience by disabling everything that makes it worth playing instead we are going to try and run a tight nit community.

Slots will be limited but I am still not sure how many at this stage This is the reason for the post

Everyone on the Tekkit server will be equal and everyone will have a say on how things are run we want as little admin intervention as possible
we have successfully done this with a Minecraft server in the past

The server is going to be contracted for twelve months and paid for in advance for 3 months so I need to have things well organised before starting
a support site is being setup at http://www.australiantekkitserver.com.au yes I know the domain name lacks imagination it’s no surprise all my Minecraft houses are cubes with windows
Feedback on this would be appreciated :!: sorry for the wall of text

Phoenix238, I just sorta flew in and looked around for exposed world anchors and removed just the anchors.
It's not really a huge deal since they are easy to replace. Some have come online and said 'omg my anchor is gone' I said sorry :).

This isn't a criticism. I appreciate the server's existance.

But yeah.

I really wish we could do a lot of things with this server.

It has potential and all... it's fun to play on... but there are issues that, if they're not resolved, will in the long run make the server ... dirty

We need an admin...

We also need certain things changed, like disabling a bunch of EE stuff...

Or at least having a separate whitelist that requires playing for 2 weeks+ before you are able to use certain things (mostly EE things.)

Which would need an admin to administer.

Tekkit is a fantastic idea but the implementation requires a lot of maintenance.

I've disabled anchors in railcraft, changed a few filesystem mount settings too.

You could always volunteer smokn :)

Myself and a couple of friends have been playing on this server for a couple of days. Really enjoying it!

However, we seem to be having some serious trouble with items glitching out inside pipes and never sending the items into the chests. Is this something we're doing wrong or is it a server issue?

I am going to assume it's to do with Tekkit itself.

Most probably yes.

It's a strange thing, because we tested dropping items out the end of the pipe and onto an obsidian pipe, and that worked, but as soon as we put a straight line say from chest to chest the items would teleport backwards in the pipes and be stuck in there forever
