Becoming even more appreciative of my laptop and mobile wifi

In hospital Wednesday for ankle fusion - enforced bed rest Thursday - should be out today

I have my music - movies - Civ V - email so I don't have to ring people at 3:00 am when I wake and think of something - and a remote connection to home so I can maintain the bandwidth intensive tasks I don't want to do over wifi... All this and blood pressure so low it's a worry*

AND of course I can find out about my meds (Mmmmmmmm - good ones....) and be an instant internet Dr and tell my doc what he did wrong...

*My BP when working has been 150/90 through 135/110 - stage two hypertension

- In hospital
- stress free
- resting
- medicated/drugged
AND taking BP meds....

I'm running about 100/50 which is on the low side - and possbly a record for me

after taking a whole week of work for a smallish cut on his finger our youngest worker came back to work this week. in a foul mood. (he has been for months)..
this morning he exploded againsts a guy he works with.
had to pull them both in the office.
young guy (he is 24, but comes across younger. he has been working here for 7 years).
had his say starting with how he doesnt like this other bloke (who is very ...anal/precice ..and mostly deaf..they clash) but ended up with him saying he has had enough here and has been looking for work now for a few months.
glad he finally SAID it.

so all in all an exciting morning. i need to look for a new staff member.

Although I think that if you're looking for new work you should let your current employer know, at the same time this can cause negative effects on you are work (particularly if you're a casual employee), so it can be catch 22 sometimes.

This afternoon I'll complete W1 D3 of the C25K program, pretty happy about that.

I often don't let my employers know about other work endeavors/finding new work etc. It's not really any of their business (ha, word pun) really.

i completely agree. he volunteered this information. We aren't sacking him or ending his empoyment in 2 weeks. he can stay till he finds somewhere else.

Apparently it just snowed a little at the CSIRO near ANU here in Canberra.
Edit: Scratch that, my Facebook just lit up with statuses about snow all around Canberra, except for here where it's just raining miserably.

Yeah, reported out here in far west Belconnen as well - but not happening as I left the hospital... although a clump of frozen slush fell off a light pole at Glenloch interchange as we came through.

Thanks to the well wishers - it's looking good - my ankle is giving me no more pain straight after the op than it was on a bad day before it - and I only know they did an arthroscope on the knee because I can see the holes.

Now to clean up ID3 tags and re-organise/clean up the music collection...
Then the rest of the media server

Then I might start culling electronic archives

All those (non physical) data tasks that need to be done some day... ... well... it's some day
