Mellie, you should be able to see weapon damage in the stats. it will be something like Lightning Longsword - 0 100 0 0 0, Longsword + 5 - 100 0 0 0 0 Where the first number is the damage that tends to scale off your stats, then lightning, fire, divine and special or something. Just look for big numbers ;)

Also they appear to be a lot further away then they actually are. If you are dying to the first one, you can always run to your souls as soon as you land as it will always spawn in the same location I believe. My strategy is about shrugging off/dodging normal attacks by circling and rolling or backing away to avoid magic attacks. Flasking when needed. Honestly Beatrice makes the fight harder. She doesn't do much damage and due to health scaling makes the kings harder to kill.

I think this fight is the only real gear check in the game. The rest of the bosses can be beaten by playing smart and learning the patterns. This fight doesn't let you take your time because if you don't kill them fast enough you could be fighting 4 at once.

Yes!

Mask of the Father, Stone Armour + Elite Knight boots an gloves, two-handed lightning spear. Had heaps of time to heal, withstood most damage an could just stand there and wait for stamina to refill. **** went down.

No Beatrice for me as I didn't use her for the Moonlight butterfly.

So pumped!

Nudge, only just saw your post now, thank you :) so if a weapon has more than one number, how do I read it? I might have 200 0 0 0 220 0 ...does that mean it does 420?

Got lost trying to get back to Logan's cell and lost 50,000 souls. Sigh. Anyone know a good vid that shows me the way back through the Archives to free him? It's quite an easy area tbh. I'm up to the bonfire near the rooms with the chests/mimic. Actually, ****, the way to Logan is back up the ladder I got into that area from isn't it?

Yeah, that would be 420. *BUT* a 420 0 0 0 0 weapon is better then a 200 0 0 0 220 0 weapon because of the way resistances are worked out. The enemies will resist twice, once for normal once for the elemental part. Granted this is a minor point ;)

To get back to logan, if you are at the bonfire before the crystal cave (it might be the place you are talking about... there are chests and mimics there) then you have to climb back up the stair cases again, rotating them etc.

Getting back into Arma 2 warfare and even more into the editor now that i've built this new PC. Last night i created a quick mission where a sniper team gets dropped off in a chopper to take out the enemy in a town. Pretty generic stuff, but it took me two hours to make

Can't wait to have more time on my PC, haven't flown or played arma in a long time!

I continue to be hopelessly addicted to Dark Souls, easily beat the Asylum Boss dude in the demon ruins and the Centipede boss in the same life. Bit confused with the shortcut to Izalith, I was absolutely Chaos rank 2 (had the spells to go with it) but the door is closed. From what I've read, this means Solaire must die (sad). Lord Bed of Chaos, Nito and Gwyn left. Once I have the Sunlight Maggot helmet I am going to tear the Tomb of Giants apart.

So excited to play NG+, I keep all my Boss Souls yes? I've only used Queelag's so far, planning on getting all the weapon achievements on my second playthrough. Need to focus on getting unique weapons as well, I really REALLY want to 1000 this game (and then another 1000 on PC).

What's the point of the Bottomless Box. Is it just for inventory cleanup?

Yeah, Bottomless box is inventory cleanup. I'll see you in a week when you have pulled your hair out from repeated attempts of Bed of Chaos. Nito and Gwyn are fun though. I did Nito without a divine weapon which was pretty fun. Unless there is some achievement I don't know about I am not sure what you are keeping your boss souls for. Use them while you have access to the Giant Blacksmith. If you get to NG+ you will have to fight your way to him again before you can use them. Also in NG+ they give meaningless amounts of souls as you get so much from the minions.

My weapons upgrade paths have been very messy. For instance, I turned my +7 Divine Uchi into a +5 Occult Uchi, stupid stuff like that.

Keep running out of colourerd chunks and large titanite shards.

Bed of Chaos was SO EASY! I died a bunch of times but once ai figured out you could block his swings it was only a matter of time before he went down.

Nito is next, no Divine blade so I'll be two-handing my Lightning Spear +5 (which has demolised everything thrown at it so far) and just manage the skeletons, dodge his swings and deal damage where I can.

After that it's more humanity farming to boost all the bonfires, then sometime this week Gwyn is dying and I'm heading into NG+.

EDIT: am now on NG+! Beat Gwyn after a tiny bit of farming in the Kiln with the help of a player phantom. Should have farmed more but was eager for the restart. Ripped the Asylum Boss and Taurus Demon (two-handed drop attacks with the +5 lightning spear has that effect) but got invaded and destroyed. PvP builds are hard to beat and you never have time to change your gear.

Lost a fair few hours to Ghost Recon Online so far this week. My thoughts so far:

A lot more tactical than GRAW. The team that communicates the most, calling out targets, talking strategy etc will win every time. Walking out into the open for more than a few seconds gets you killed. So that's a plus for me. There's also plenty of reasons to stick close to your squad, i.e health and ammo topups and device recharges.

The device functions are interesting, but not too overpowered. The time that it takes for it to recharge makes it a tactical weapon and not something that you can use all the time.

Gameplay is fairly smooth and not buggy at all, only turning on vsync nearly halves my frame rate.

The real downsides are obvious: no dedicated servers (as far as i can tell). It's all matchmaking, and for some reason every time a round finishes the game finds me a new match, which is frustrating, especially if i'm having a good game with a good team.

The price is right however, i'd definitely recommend it...

What are the graphics like? I wonder if it would run on my laptop.

Finished Queelag and the Gargoyles on NG+. Pyromany glove on +15, BKH +5, SL 92, Enchanted Weapon chevo, not a bad night. Need a few slabs, will trade my glove to Snuggly then upgrade the other glove after farming near Alvina (worth a good 36k souls every 4 or so minutes). Oddly, didn't need Quelana to get to glove +15, it was on +7 and the Chaos Witch's servant did it for me.

Tomorrow night is Forza and Dragon Age 2 night, going gamerscore huntin'!

Pretty good, but i think it scales fairly well. Being a beta i don't think it's as optimised as it could be, but the client is only 2gb, so there's no harm in trying. ;)

When does Uncharted 2 get interesting? I mean sure the intro cinematic sequence was kinda cool and the story appears interesting and well written but the gameplay is just so 'eh'. Combat and movement is so awkward and clunky imo (not helped by melee and cover buttons being mixed up imo which wouldn't be a problem if they let you friggin change your layout) and overall firefights aren't really engaging.

Also why does it seem like PS3 games have input lag? Killzone 2 it's everywhere (especially noticeable because lip-synching is way off) but i've noticed it a bit in Uncharted 2 as well. Don't think I noticed it in GoW3 though.

I had a similar experience with Uncharted 3. I think 2 is the best in the series for the story and character interplay, but agree that the combat parts are **** (in all three games). Shooting is ungainly, melee combat feels clunky... the magic of the game isn't in the combat, that's for sure.

Don't play 3, btw, kinda unimpressive.

Into Forza 4 tonight, had a few races last night and I'd forgotten how good it felt.

Surely I'm not the only one excited by random games? It's only a handful of us lately, this thread will not die!

Beat the Iron Golem, what a doddle, make sure to fight him on the bridge he starts on as for me he went down on one knee with a quarter health left (hadn't even got a hit on me) and then fell off the bridge and died!

Forza 4 was awesome, driving a Countach in the World S-class (level 36), still ridiculously easy to bully your way to the front of the pack and no incentive to drive cleanly (even with sim-damage on).

Thinking about playing Team Fortress 2 for the first time. Maybe. I don't know. I wasn't tempted when it came out, didn't care when it became free, but this co-op robot thing sounds interesting.
