What happened to the melee only sudden deaths? I liked those.

And I miss gold rush and dustbowl from #13. I've always hated pipeline, and doomsday isnt great either (though at least its normally pretty quick).

Is pipeline actually well liked?

They still happen but only if the team scores are tied. e.g. On Frontier, if Blu captures 3 points, and old-Red/new-Blu also captures 3 points, and timelimit runs out. So it's pretty rare unfortunately :(

+1 to bringing Goldrush and Dustbowl to #13 :)

I wouldn't miss Pipeline if it were removed, though the 2 round limit makes it a little more bearable.

Same with Doomsday, 3 round limit makes it end quickly but for the most part I just goof around when it appears in rotation.

ETA: Degroot Keep is pretty damn fun too ... wouldn't mind seeing it in rotation, maybe with a shorter time limit or round limit?

Gold Rush? Yes. Dustbowl? Hells no. I think most other people would probably echo my sentiments(at least about Dustbowl).

There is no actual way to send the end of the map to Melee mode unless it is a tied game. I can set the time to the hard limit, which it has or just back to normal but unless it is a tied score the maps won't go into sudden death melee mode unfortunately.

Nightfall needs to go, it's a server-killer. Or a server-maimer at least.

You're going to have to convince Myth about that.

It's not a server killer, plus Steel should go before anything else. :P

nashy82, Foundry ran its course on #13 a while back. Not sure it needs another run yet.

Hey everyone,
I'm no regular on #13, but when I'm playing a lot of TF2 it's one of my favourites (experienced players, good matches).

A question: I'm back playing once more after a break, so I wasn't around when the 'hard time limit' was added to the server. Does this mean that every map has the same time limit? If so, what is this limit? I played one round that seemed to be very short, but it may have been my imagination.

Cheers

EDIT: Just read back a few pages. So, hard time limit means the map will change after a certain amount of time, even if it's not the end of a round? Are most maps set at 20mins?

That's right.

In general there's a hard limit of 30 minutes. Exception is Upward which as I understand doesn't respect the hard time limit.

Some maps have additional round limits - Doomsday (3 rounds), Pipeline (2), Nightfall (3?) and I think the new Kong King fall into this category. These maps finish on the earlier of round limit & hard time limit.

Nightfall's set to 2 as well. Steel doesn't have a hard time limit either. Which makes me sad. :P

They all have a hard time limit of 25mins. Upwards just has an internal setting that just ignores that time limit.

Pipeline, Nightfall, Kong King AND Steel have set round limts. Currently it is set to 2, 2, 4 and 3 respectively. When we had Doomsday it was set for 3 as well, but Kong has taken it's place for now.

Here's what i think of the maps currently in rotation:
------------
Pipeline (Remove)
Hoodoo (Keep)
Nightfall (Don't care either way)
Badwater (Keep)
Frontier (Keep)
Steel (Keep)
Upward (Don't care either way)
Kong (Remove)

And some ones not in the rotation that i'd like added:
-----------
Goldrush
Dustbowl (But the 20 minute stage 3 thing will probably kill the server)
Junction (Probably not a good idea, I'm one of the few people who like it)
