Is any one else excited about the new Bourne movie coming to cinemas next week?

Sadly no. It's another movie that seems unnecessary and the reviews haven't been all that promising either :| I think this'll be a "wait 'till dvd" for me.

IMDB rates it as 7.9 currently which is promising. I have very high expectations however as I really enjoyed the trilogy.

I have this suspicion my high expectations are going to be crushed...

It should be pretty good. Jeremy Renner has been decent in a few things lately.

Yeah I'm in, Looking forward to this one! :)

Might even pick up the old trilogy set on bluray, spotted it recently for under 20 bucks.

Cannot stand Jeremy Renner. Dude is not a 'leading man'.

This. He has a very "co-star" face and mannerisms.

I like Renner's work. He was great in the Hurt Locker.

As for the new Bourne, I'm looking forward to it because I liked the trilogy. I'm looking forward to seeing how close they make Renner's character to the original Bourne.

Why would they make the character the same? He isn't playing Bourne. I'm not sure about this, the other movies were good but not exceptional. That said, they were relatively realistic when compared to some other spy films which is a plus for me, might give it a look.

The realistic side for me really made the original films. It was really refreshing to see some realistic bullet portrayals.

I would even go as far as saying it is my favourite series from the spy genre.

heads up, make sure you're familiar with the 3rd one before you go see this... and preferably don't go see this.

Well I went and saw it and it was terrible.

The story line was pretty much non-existent (even by action movie standards), the lead female actor (Not sure her name) was annoying almost the entire movie, and finally it was obviously created entirely to set up the next movie. While many loose ends were created almost none of them were resolved in any way.

I could go on but I think you get my drift. After enjoying the first three immensely I was really let down by this.

On a positive note, Renner was the movie's saving grace, I thought he did a great job with it and made it bearable despite the terrible script writing.
