They're talking about lots of cool stuff beforehand as well, showing simulations of what they're expecting to happen, etc. Been watching a couple hours now, it's amazing stuff.

Yeah I tuned in about an hour or so ago and they've had some great interviews and simulations.

It's crazy about the 14 minute delay back to Earth. Basically means that when they receive the signal that the lander has touched the atmosphere, it would have either crashed or landed already!

It's a great live feed, just like being in the room with them and they're getting excited, 6.5km to go and slowing as expected.

so it landed? i only just tuned in!

yes it is. there was no actual vision of it landing just the telemetry painting a picture of its decent and a room full of cheering scientist. It only sent back 2 pictures after touch down as the mother ship needs to reposition to recieve the data before sending it back to earth but it's going to be fun watching this little critter take a country drive around mars.

Yeah, it's pretty cool, they have a conference in 1 min or so, should come up on the live stream again. Can't wait to see the pictures the rover gets.
