Ducky Shine II is coming out fairly soon. Not sure of all the differences between the original and new version, but the one change I do know of is that this board remembers your backlight settings when you reboot, whereas the old one resets backlight every time.

I'm thinking of grabbing a White LED version, not sure on which switch to go for though. I know I like blues, but part of me wants to try out Browns to see if I prefer them. Blacks I would consider, since the TTY machines at my work apparently uses Clear switches which are very close to blacks, and that's nice to type on. Not sure how it would be long term, since the keys are kinda heavy in comparison to other switches.
No idea on Reds, part of me just wants to try them since they're so different to Blues!

I remember reading on a forum somewhere that getting into mechanical keyboards can be a money sink if you want to try out all the switches, that person may have been right :|

So I currently own a g510 logitech and I hate it. Key depress seems too deep and general typing is annoying. What would you guys recommend as a replacement. Gaming number 1 priority.

I found the changes to be disappointing.
As for switches, I have blues on my Blackwidow and just last week I picked up a limited edition Ducky Dragon with brown switches, I sort of miss my blues. It's really hard to know what to expect when choosing them. I find brown to be about the same noise as the blues as well. As for reds, never tried them, I hear they are really light, I was scared they would feel too light.

From what I understand, Browns are just Blues minus the click, is that about right?
Now you mention it, I kinda do like the click, and if it's not really any quieter and I'm losing that somewhat satisfying click, maybe Browns aren't the best choice.

Too many choices!

Thanks for your thoughts though.

Blackwidows come with blues and they'd be the easiest to find so you can try before you buy - I'm not recommending you buy one though!

I posted here back in September last year about purchasing the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Stealth which uses the brown switches.

I'm still happy with it over 6 months later, the keyboard still works fine and they feel great without the click of the blues.

I do sort of miss the click. It's weird when you think about it, but I guess I got so used to it.

I liked my Blackwidow, but the o key keeps double clicking :(

Nice... though... with the price of almost 300 dollar for a non mechanical keyboard...

well.. that's quite a lot of dollar for a membrane keyboard so the extra functionality better be worth every penny.

It also looks kinda dumb, in my opinion at least.
Does the big circular thing next to the APP SCREEN actually do anything apart from look dumb?

Dunno, personally i wouldn't care too much of that... and more concerned on the practical use of the whole thing.

I do like the modular concept though, Numpad SERIOUSLY are much more useful for most of my games if it's located to my left hand side, not my right hand side.

But i am quite wary of 300 dollar investment on a non mechanical keyboard... at least with a 300 dollar worth of mechanical one it's likely to be near indestructible (my 150bux Steelseries 7G is effectively a lethal weapon if used as a club and endured my abuse for years now including enough machine gun typing that killed several of my older membrane keyboard in weeks and it still respond like it was new with each press)

That keyboard reminded me of this: http://www.aziocorp.com/product/keyboar ... kb577u.htm ... I was close to getting it, but I'm not sure I want blacks. It is a *decent* price though ...

that's probably as decent as it gets for a full size mechanical keyboard with macro keys and the extra bell and whistle...

assuming the construction of the rest is solid, the switches are cherry so at least we know what to expect there which are usually excellent, the only question is whether the rest of the material and construction are as good.

If a numpad on the left is something you'd use, I'd just buy a separate USB numpad or one of those 'gaming pads' from Razer or Logitech.
