Yes actually, Phelps is currently under a lot of scrutiny too.

Who I am judging however is the aussie swimmer girl who won silver and is complaining about it, *****.

I saw the interview, she didn't seem to be complaining at all, she seemed sad that she had given it her best and hadn't won, but we are talking about a lot of emotion after a extremely challenging moment, quite normal.

Did you see her on the podium? She looked ecstatic.

I think I'd actually go ahead and say that it's a bit of racism or at least prejudice, I'm sure if it was an Aussie/US girl who set the record then nobody would bat an eyelid but the instant it's a Chinese/Russian who breaks a record then everybody speculates about doping (like they aren't all using recovery agents anyway).

I don't think it's a big stretch to assume that a country with a population of 1.3 BILLION can find themselves a record breaker in an individual sport, swimmers also have a history of coming into their prime at a very early age and then burning out due to injury or just a decline in skill/enthusiasm. Leisel Jones qualified for Australia at 15 and won 2 silver medals at sydney at something like a month past her 15th birthday, she smashed the world championships the next year and the year after that she smashed everyone at the Commonwealth Games.

The only reason people are speculating that Phelps is a doper is because he's been so successful and then all of a sudden can't win ****, maybe it's the drugs... or maybe a 15 year old chinese girl just wants it more than a bunch of spoiled, rich, western girls do... jeez just LOOK at the shape someone like Jones is in this time around, she looks freaking pregnant.

edit: not like it matters if she was cheating anyway, they keep blood/urine for years these days, she'll just get stripped in 10 years when they finally figure out her masking agent.

There's a reasonable chance that they are doing something that might be considered cheating. Really depends on if they get caught. Every country that wins but ours is cheating is a common theme, just like everybody who beats me in a computer game is hacking.

IIRC Wasn't Thorpe accused of undergoing gene therapy to give him webbed feet or something?

Out of all this I find the biggest dodginess going on in the badminton. Teams are purposefully losing so that they only meet other teams from their own country in the finals. The umpire in South Korea vs China had to intervene to tell them to at least try. Source: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/olympi ... farce.html

I think you'll find the reason people look suspiciously at the Russians and Chinese is that they have a history of doping(and with China it was actually state funded) whereas Australia and the U.S don't. Calling this racist is laughable.

Innocent until proven guilty. God forbid should an Australian swimmer be faced with the same accusation; we'd be sticking up for him/her and telling everyone else to **** off.
