Man of Steel (2013)

Kevin Costner (Pa Kent) narrating. I think there's another one floating around with Russel Crowe (Jor-El) doing some voice over. The trailer music is from The Fellowship of the Ring, just after Gandalf falls to his doom in the mines lol.

Edit: Now with proper HD link to keep Cozi quiet :P

I love that bit of music.

Everything I've heard of the movie so far has given me room to hope - Zack Snyder doesn't seem to be just going for the slo-mo action thing he does quite well. There seems to be a significant amount of story.

Well, one of Superman's powers is super-speed. Considering that
Hidden: show
Zod is meant to be the the villain, I wouldn't be surprised if there were some Supes v Zod, Kryptonian super-speed (ie slow-mo) fight scenes lol

I've only seen Superman Returns and while I didn't think it was a bad movie I also didn't really find it that interesting either. I just don't really find the character interesting. Then again I find 99% of DC comics rather dry and uninspired.

Im the same with batman, it's Nolan's movies I love.....that cut away to superman breaking the sound barrier is just the Nolan touch that makes his movies.

Hate to break it to you guys but produced is not the same as directed. Its like Peter Jackson Produced District 9, but it was Directed by Neil Blomkampf (sp?). The Director is the one that controls the movie's flow and feel.

Some useless information, the original Superman comics had him running as he didn't fly.

I'm more optimistic about this one than Superman returns. It could have a grittier feel to it though there's only so much you can do with a guy in red/blue tights. The 'deadliest catch' jokes are true though I think it could be the new element which brings some life into the franchise.

Well a Producer has far more involvement than Executive Producers (read: financiers), perhaps Nolan will have enough input to keep some heart, soul and intelligence in the story whilst taking advantage of Snyder's unique visual flare...

you also need to keep in mind that multi-million $ productions such as this, the director does very little in the way of physical camera movements. its left up to the cinematographer and bout 20 other guys (for example)

nolan being in the role of producer will most likely chose the same team that he has used on his movies. so while he isn't directing, a lot of the nolan-esk atmosphere/style may be present

also, nolan is still primarily a director and probably had time to be on set quite often to help out.
