Did Frankie Hunt die?
I was looking around as the post stumped me for a bit, but i still cant find a news posting to his death?
Though i do like that song even the original growing up in and around army bases ,army personal and Townsville i think i knew that song b4 i could even talk.

I recall the song saying "Frankie" died the day Apollo 11 landed on the moon, which was apparently July 20 1969, evidently today yesterday is an anniversary.

edit: fyi I think that part was creative license, the unit of the guy who inspired the song wasn't deployed on that date.

Song done from Pual Warrens' point of view when Ben Ranaudo was Killed In Action in Afghanistan while deployed with 1RAR on MRTF2 in 2009. Was the anniversary of his death on Wednesday the 18th of July.
