Armored Kill

Unread postby llllTrooperllll » 20 Jul 12, 6:34 pm

As we will need a thread for this DLC, as its looking extremely promising, i for one can not wait for this one!!!

I've been getting annoyed with EA for announcing BF4 now, but this will hopefully put some new life into BF3 for me!!

This is certainly looking pretty damn nice. I like how when you control a certain base you get the circling plane to spawn out of and that its destroyable. I think this'll prove to be a worthwhile expansion. On the plus side being a premium member because i needed a second account and ended up with a better K/D ratio, i've already effectively paid for the expansion and am looking forward to getting it a little bit early :). I'm not so sure on the fast moving tank with low armour however.

I too was a little annoyed at EA for announcing BF4, but when you think about it, the release time frame for it isn't likely to be until the middle/end of next year which is enough time for all the DLC for BF3 to be released (Last lot released in March). I think everyone will have exhausted their efforts with all the BF3 content and will be ready to move on to the next iteration of the game.

Got to say I'm pretty excited for this.. the CQB expansion was a non event for me, played it for maybe two hours and immediately regretted my purchase of BF3 Premium so hopefully this makes up for it.

The only good thing about CQB was the new guns, and that's about it really. It's far to chaotic to be enjoyable

CQ is only good with 16 players total IMO.

Pew pew pew!

Even closing in on 200 hours of this played, the trailer looks like what I wanted from BF3 in the first place. Can't wait.

Then again, I'm still playing on a dinosaur of a Core 2 Duo so I look forward to playing it at 10-15 frames per second..

Surely it's not that bad for you? if you lower your settings?

I have a recent card (6950) so low to high settings dont make much difference. The FPS is bottlenecked by my dual core CPU struggling to compute everything in 64 player servers with huge maps.

I've been playing it fairly well @ 25-50 fps on < 48 player servers on maps like Caspian and Wake, but if their 'biggest map in BF' claim is to be believed it will put the hurt on the ol' dualie ;)

Oh that sucks, got the funds to upgrade the old beast any time in the near future?

Giving BF4 a wide berth. Bought BF3 on the promise it was BF2 on steroids when infact it was nothing like it's roots and tried to be a COD/BC2 hybrid.

Mine goes from 40-50 to 80>fps changing the settings from high to low on an i3 2100 (that said I always run custom setting). You running an LGA755?

Yep, E8400. At this point it's interesting to have just to stress it with the latest games and see how it holds up! (Still pretty well on most games; thankyou consoles!).
