Hi, I just wanted to say a few words about this particular server since I've been playing it for a while under the handle 'Combat EZ' and various other handles. Sorry if this is too long for a post but i just wanted to get it out there.

I wanted to address a number of issues that I, and most likely almost everyone has when playing on this server even for a small amount of time has had/continue to have.

1. The nades. There are a number of problems with the HE grenades in this server. The biggest is probably the fact that when you get hit with one, even if it does minimal damage, you will most likely experience some lag. I have played the other servers especially office and dust 2 and this doesn't seem to be a problem. Another is that the opposing team (to the team who has grenades and won the previous round, unless someone switched or got auto switched) will not have any armour as the other team will most likely nade spam (or throw it so the other team cant really rush) and thus potentially taking huge damage because of the small distance to the other base. The problem is escalated when more people join the server. Nades also mostly ensure map control, and its hard to reach the awp in the middle of the map without taking nade damage, or the awp might be gone. This reduces the chances of the other team winning (more on this later). I understand that things have been done like removing nades altogether and reducing the time u can buy things at the end of the round, but still this is a massive problem in my opinion on the server.

2. The awp/auto snipers. Personally, i think the awp and/or auto snipers should be banned on this map, or create another iceworld server where they are banned like you have done for Dust2 and Office. On the Winning team this is a massive problem as they can ensure map control with these guns in the hands of 1 or 2 decent players. Only a lucky shot or very quick reaction times or you being much much better than the other player (or you somehow having the same gun) will get you a kill against someone holding an auto sniper/awp on the other team. Logically it's ridiculous as well as the map is only about 15m long and people are using sniper rifles/auto sniper rifles, but thats another story.

3. Balance. This is probably the biggest problem in this map. For example, today i was playing on the counter terrorist side for the entire 30 minutes with 10 players on each time for the majority of the time. The score was initially 0-5, but then the CT's won 48 straight. As you can imagine, there was people with ridiculous scores like 50-7 exclusively using the auto sniper. The counter terrorist hardly lost any players on each round sometimes losing none. This was due to the help of nade spams, auto snipers, and awps for the most part. Some players (not mentioning any names) on the CT's were using the ak-47 most of the time, but generally the big scorers were using the awp/auto snipers (also affectionately known as dak dak' or noob cannons). The terrorist team was made up of mostly good players who generally perform well but having negative scores due to the problems mentioned above.
I imagine this makes most people feel very frustrated and powerless due to what seems (and is imo) very overpowered guns and nades on the opposing team, i know i have felt this many times when playing the server.

If you read this entire post then thankyou my effort has not been in vain. I am aware that noone is obligated to do anything and i believe CSS servers are generally not for profit, but games.on.net probably draws the most amount of CSS players in Australia/NZ and if anyone can improve peoples gaming experience then it will most likely be you guys/gals.

In summary i believe the following things should be done;
1. Remove HE grenades entirely of at least reduce the lag.
2. Remove Sniper rifles and auto sniper rifles.
3. Or, create another server where the above are done.

First off i think this is a great post mate.
Good on you for coming to the forums to provide some feedback that you think will improve the server - that is great.

EDIT: Do you know if other people are getting lag with the nades? Because ideally this shouldnt be happening. I am just wondering if it is your PC or a server issue. Would be worth asking others if they have lag with nades. I will test it myself later today too.

What I would suggest now is that to get changes happening, you really need some people to vote on your changes and agree that they too would also prefer these changes to happen.

I suggest you could do this by:
a) Giving them a link to your forum post and telling them to come here and provide some feedback on your ideas
b) Asking people in game what they think about your idea and then screenshotting their replies (make sure you f5 print screen, dont just copy text from the console)
c) Edit this post or create another post with a poll in it with 5 options, then telling people to come here and vote:
1. Remove HE grenades only
2. Remove Sniper and auto rifles only
3. Remove both Nades and Snipers
4. Create a new server where the above are done.
5. Make no changes - Keep server how it is

Good luck! I am sure if you get lots of people agreeing with you, it would then be considered by the server guys

Hi Combat EZ,

Thanks for providing feedback and going into detail. I am more then happy to make what ever changes the community want to the servers if that's what people want.

As @gent-$mithy said you are going to have to get the others to show me they also want this. Feel free to get them to post here in this thread and if you generate enough interest ill go in and make the changes but until I see a fair amount of support I will be leaving them as is.

I agree to an extent.

HE grenades can completely ruin the game and they need to go.

I agree with the comments about autosnipers, but not the AWP. It is not too OP in iceworld.

The other thing that wasn't mentioned is freeze time. Right now there is a good few seconds where if you happen to be unlucky enough to spawn in the middle within the line of sight of another player you become a sitting duck to a free hit. cl_freezetime needs to be 0.
