'Nerfing' is getting out of control!

Unread postby llllTrooperllll » 11 Jul 12, 8:38 am

What the hell is going to happen to this game? Why do people complain and whinge about a weapon etc being over powered just because they have been killed by it?

This continuation of griping and moaning about every single item in the game since its release is getting ridiculous, what do people want? do they all want the guns etc to all have exactly the same damage, speed, etc.. do they want no weakness or separations for each class?

has anyone tried to use a claymore recently? they seem to be useless now..

There are different weapons in the world for a reason! some are better than the others in certain situations. but everything in this game is counter-able. It just requires a brain to figure it out. A man is presented with a challenge and he examines the situation and looks for a way to overcome the challenge. A child finds a challenge and they fall down with a scraped knee and cries UNFAIR UNFAIR WHAAAAAAAmbulance.

Spend 10mins flipping through the BF3 forum pages, and just count how many threads are labeled "plz nerf".

To me BF3 seems like a game where no matter what Gun I use I am pretty much only limited by my skill's within a certain situation... except maybe iron sights at long range....

Accuracy is win in BF3 - If I have a shotgun I don't try to kill someone at huge range, I get in close to their face :P and use the situation, even pistols are lethal if used correctly.

Pretty much If you get shot in the head you die (simple logic i know) - some people can't accept this when they are on the receiving end of a bullet.

Personally I really don't think the game needs nerfing at all people should stop whining, seems pretty balanced to me.

I must admit it is very noticeable when a team has good players - there are some crazy good players out there who never miss the head shot, but I have respect for that - its a competitive game - some people are better than others at it :)

Summing up BF3 is realistic combat - guns kill people - bullets will kill if they hit your head and war certainly isn't fair - no need to nerf bf3 in my opinion :)

It's almost as if the people who are complaining are forgetting this, or for that matter, what type of game they are playing!, or they have some sort of superiority complex happening.

It strikes me that the in-game complaints and calls for nerfs are just as much of a tactic as picking a weapon that is strong in the situation you find yourself in. In CQ maps you hear a lot of complaints about the overuse of shotguns, and while I think the SPAS-12 may be a little powerful in it's current state, these sorts of maps are exactly the sort of situation where shotguns SHOULD be powerful. If you can't have success with a shotty on some of those tight maps, you might as well remove them from the game completely.

In the end, people calling for nerfs or giving people grief for choosing a particular weapon, scope or tactic, are just trying to mould the game to what they believe will give them an advantage, just like the people that choose a weapon that suits their current playstyle.

I've heard people complain about weapons time and time again, but it never makes any sense to me.

IMHBHO: The weapons are balanced well enough that I can usually find a way around a particular weapon gap. The G18 pistol may fire faster than my 1911 but if I'm quicker on the draw and I hit 2 or 3 good shots ... Welp, you can fire all the bullets you want, mine hurt more.

Exactly this. There is no ultimate weapon setup in BF3. Each gun has its pros and cons and all depends on how you play to those.

If that was always true then good, but it happens too often were I'll start emptying a clip into someone's head, but before I get the kill somehow they react quick enough to kill me. I'm talking about pretty close combat, were accuracy is not an issue.

I find that some servers this can be due to lagging.

On the weapons front, the M16A3 is the best weapon overall, in close quarters it's beaten by the AEK (for the faster firing rate) and maybe the F2000 (it sprays in circles instead of upwards like the M16), with shotguns being overall the best choice if you avoid the medium/long range corridors and paths.
However if you like to abuse the overpowered suppression effect, use a LMG and spray, almost every encounter (past shotgun range and even then sometimes you'll win) the enemy will be so suppressed that they will be out of bullets before they can land a shot that actually follows the barrels angle.

Yay magic suppression!

Yah, that's the **** lag. Its extremely annoying. Especially on the CQ servers. Generally 64 player servers do this, and higher ticket servers. Also combine those for even more frustration!

What's the point?
None of the things posted there have been listened to, it's simply a way to say 'we listen to our community' but they don't actually do anything.

All that does is support what I just said, which is sad.
