Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

Oh dear lord, sounds like Faith is the way to go then.

No RPG has ever sucked me in as far as build choices, until now.

Looking forward to PC release (GFWL FTW) and will also grab the DLC that that includes for my Xbox (I think it's all about Artorius?).

its really how you want to play, then modify that e.g.

would you rather dodge every attack and strike fast and quickly/wait for the opportune moment?
use a shield?
want to be able to last in a fight for a long time?
big weapons? fast ones? ones with unique effects?

I found that (contrary to my love for thief/splinter cell) I'd rather hit **** all day everyday, while looking cool as, and not worry about sneaking around and dodging.

so i grabbed a huge shield, pike, some leggings and a sentential helm and ran around pretending to be a warrior from 300.

every 'class' has it's advantages and can be made to your choice, like e.g. you can be a melee sorcerer, and be one of the strongest hitting attacks in game, same for a faith melee, find out what you like and build onto it (I never use spells now)

Im also looking forward to it on pc, I will be rushing to 4 kings and commence maximum trolling on everyone.

Went back to my Magic User in the end (the dude who is up to Quelaag). I didn't even know where Rickert was so imagine my delight to find him easily accessible down that staircase!

Summoned Solaire and a friendly phantom, made very short work of the Gargoyles. Put my summon sign down to do some soul farming with the same boss but no-one summoned me... I think like me, they saw my tattered raiments and figured I'd be no help.. everyone wants the guy with the biggest sword!

Farmed for some green shards, picked up 20 of them, now have a Magic Longsword +5 that's doing so smiting for me. Just going to keep grinding away to get my INT up (I'd stupidly neglected it in the desire to build STR and DEX for my BK sword)... would Crimson Armour be a good one to invest in upgrades? Haven't really thought about clothing and shields, I'm open to suggestions?

First and last time I'm going to see those two words next to each other.

As for me I've been having loads of fun with the new release of the original Majesty in HD. :3

Not sure if excited or not. For some reason I just don't have high hopes for this.

My last main character was lvl 45 and had 25 hours of play. My current build is level 47 and has just hit 10 hours.

Game gets easy when you replay bits you've already beaten. Quealaag for instance is incredibly easy (even without an enchanted sword)... currently farming Humanity for the Chaos covenant in the Depths with the Covetous Serpent Ring and 10 Humanity, getting a drop every respawn.

Farming souls in the Forest is so easy with that hide behind the stairs trick.... pulling 6-9k souls ever two minutes. Next up after all this farming is top of Sens for the Iron Golem... looking forward to what should be a challenging fight and I'm very eager to see some new areas.

But for now, back to Ghost Recon.

good work!

I assume you are trying for solaires storyline? let me know if you complete it...

later you will find a place that can earn 500souls a second, with no need to respawn (with insane humanity drop rate as well), but at that point you probably wont need to use it.

if you have some spare humanity, summon iron tarkus for the iron golem (facing the fog gate, go right, his summon sign is near a table in the other tower) -> see if he can solo the golem...like a baws!

I don't understand Solaire's storyline. I summoned him with the Gaping Dragon and he died, he lived through gargoyles and I used Mildred for Quelaag. I've gone back to visit him in the Undead Berg but he only talks about the Sun. What should be happening?

Also, do you ever get to,fight the red dragon on the bridge?

Nope, you're not doing anything wrong. Solaire loves the sun. It's a wondrous body. Like a glorious father. Just keep using him in any battle his is summonable in, and don't worry too much until you need to go to Izalith, which is still a while off.

You can go fight the dragon right now if you want to. Go back to the bridge, fire a shot in him to get him to swoop down, then run out and fight for your life.

Acquiredthe LordVessel!

Anor Londo was actually the easiest section yet except for the Silver Knight Archers, that's 20 deaths right there.

Lord Souls next but I've put the disc away for now. I have the house to myself this week so I'd like to have started my NG+ by next week. Also need to get around to turning all these Boss Souls into weapons... really rnjoying my Light ing Psear +4 though, bu really need a divine weapon for the Catacom is.

I bought Demon's Souls a while back and, like Dark Souls, I just couldn't get into it with too long spent just trying to clear the main area.

Well I've gone back and had the same resurgence. Cleared the first two bosses (Phalanxe and Tower Knight) incredibly easily and am currently working away in the lamd of the Burrowing King.

I like the Nexus area, it's suitably mysterious, but it falls well short of the cohesive landscape presented in Dark Souls,

In DS I'm currently in the Catacombs and am a bit lost, should never have saved at a new bonfire mid-level then left the game for a week!

learn the shortcuts in the catacombs (providing you have the health)

saves time for when you need to return for the tomb later...unless you plan on doing that now.
