Chrome/Firefox extension to shrink crazy forum header

I created a simple Chrome extension to shrink that giant forum header to something more sensible:

This *only* affects the /forums URLs. I tried to minimise the actual HTML changes behind the scenes to retain styles, not mess with links etc. It's unfortunate the ad had to be killed but speaking plainly I'm an iiNet shareholder and that LREC positioning is simply awful.

That's not a problem with this extension - someone broke something in the forums CSS. The timing is just coincidental hehe.

TBH I didn't want to make too many changes to the site layout as every change we make is something that could possibly break if/when GON decides to update the site.

But that's also why I uploaded the source to GitHub -- feel free to fork it and modify for your own needs

Creating Chrome extensions is really quite easy -- if you want to just have your own modified copy just plonk all the files in one folder, and tell Chrome to load the extension from that folder. You can then edit the files in the folder directly. You do need to reload the extension between edits.

Greasemonkey is even easier. If you install the .user.js then use the Greasemonkey script manager to edit the script directly. It automatically picks up changes as you save the file.
