Seismic slam when mixed with rune to extend the length of its effects is a fantastic low level mob clearer. If you are in a combat with mobs and elites, get them chasing you, turn around, and spam your seismic slam to clear out the chaff before going to work on the already weakened elites or champions. Works brilliantly.

Played around with my ranged barb on a few Butcher runs today. Was a lot of fun :)

Horrible AoE though ;) I can change up the build so I can use furious charge to thin out large packs but then it is worthless for bosses.

Pretty happy with my barb now. Things are starting to feel a bit broken when I'm playing nightmare. At present is a cakewalk (Up to act 3 now) but I'm sure things will change once I dive into hell

I could be wrong, but my guy is doing some serious damage for a lvl 44 char. Ah gems, sweet sweet gems . Damage goes through the roof once he gets into a rage, death is rare.

Yeah it's great on the lower difficulties where you can just stack damage and faceroll the game, but you're gonna have to start sacrificing from STR/Damage for HP/Leech etc. soon both in terms of items and skills.

Yep! I'm having a lot of fun playing it like this. Do a few quests, work on my char, jump into a friends game and help out :)

Just hit the mother load with my barb. 30K gold from the auction house. Just look at that level reduction, madness.

So are two handed weapons reasonably priced on the AH? I'd imagine that good 1 handed weapons would go for more seeing how it allows one to boost defense with a shield or dual wield. I have yet to sell a 2 handed weapon on the AH... no one seems to want to get sub lvl 30 2 handed weapons. I guess at higher levels, 2 handed weapons would be looked at if it allows for higher damage at the cost of defense.

I would never pay real money for items... I think Diablo 3 will stop for me once I get all my characters up to level 60. I have no intention of having to buy high level gear in order to to decked out according just so I could do Inferno difficulty.

Considering I'm finishing Normal at around the mid 30s with my characters, I'd imagine that I'd reach lvl 60 by the end of Act 2 in Hell.

the amount of gold you get from a run through from normal to end of hell should give you enough gold to buy items that would allow you to finish act 1, and probably act 2.

you would have to be doing nearly everything to get level 60 by act 2 hell. I went at an okay pace through things and I was 49 when I finished nm, and 58 when I finished hell.

Good to hear.

Yeah, I've been doing everything and that's only with +100xp bonus on most characters.

If anything, doing continuous Rakkis Bridge runs with my DH in order to get the sub-quest achievements in that area added another 2 levels to her. About half way between lvl 34 and 35 with my DH atm and I've just started the 2nd sin heart tower. I'll be slotting a ruby onto her helm to get that 19% XP bonus God knows what level she'll be when she finishes Normal. It'll surpass my Barb though... he's in New Tristram (NM) and is lvl 35.

2-handed weapons are around the same $ i think... just got an axe with 1100-1500 damage for like 80k , took my barb up to 20k+ dps , but the first blue or yellow guy i come across in act 2 inf just smashes me instantly still....i have like 7k+ amour and 1200 vitality..wtf
maybe i should try get a good 1 handed with shield again...

giving me the poops that you can't advance unless you have a rediculous amount or gold or pay a rediculous amount of money for items , just killing the game for me , got fed up and started a new demon hunter , ill prob get that to lvl 60 and shelve the game...

I've noticed that at Level 42 there's quite a big jump in weapon DPS on the AH with a lot of lvl 60 items that have level requirement reductions of 18 and thus exceptionally high DPS available to mid level characters from level 42 onwards.

Just wondering if the majority of barb players are just grabbing whatever high damage weapons they can get their virtual hands on at lvl 42 and coupling this with a shield with high block rates; regardless of other stats? I figure that if a shield gives 25%+ block rate, one would only get hit 1 in 4 times.

Or is weapon DPS above 120 at that level overkill?

OK, just re-read the above posts (it's been a few months) and realised that many of you have already been onto the high damage lvl 42+ items.

Cas Bitton wrote:Just hit the mother load with my barb. 30K gold from the auction house.

Can't find anything high damage at lvl 43 for 30k gold now... it's well into the millions for most part but one can still buy out for 500k gold easily, though, weapon dps won't be higher than 750. At lvl 42, the premium to get high damage is insane. Drops a bit when you start looking at lvl 43, 44, etc.

Currently on the prowl for a good high damage 1-handed sword (I like the faster attack speeds) that at least adds to vitality. Will probably need to wait for lvl 44 in order to get the price down to something reasonable.

Playing a lvl 31 Barb on normal with weapon + shield. Having a blast just getting in the mobs and slicing things up. Feels much more satisfying than the WD. Cheating a bit as I'm using square gems in socketed items so I'm massively OP but I've done my slog with my WD.

I did things the other way around... at least in Normal. My Barb did the hard yards and my last character finish the game was my WD. It shows that I didn't do much grinding with my Barb as he's killed the least elites.

Of course, my bro gave me a whole bunch of square gems so I was OP throughout normal and I've been collecting square gems from item purchases. Love putting rubies into weapons and increasing dps that way... but I'm loving this lvl 42 business even more. Pity the prices have sky rocketed now compared to a few months back.

I'm also using weapon and shield for that added defense.
