Except for the last part... finding him in the secret passage to Lost Izalith, which requires you to: join Chaos Servant, get to +2 rank, then find the passage, etc.

that last part is so annoying, I've yet to do it successfully

Mellie, you are almost up to the real part of dark souls!, don't forget to get the fireplace under the bell after quelaag

I managed to do it, but yeah, it was a total ****. If I hadn't read about the specific requirements, it wouldn't have happened.

Hell, I still **** up ol' Onion Knight's endgame by not toolboxing the enemies before he jumps into the pit.

Just make a motherflipping Dark Souls thread in the motherflipping RPG section of the forum already would you?

I'm reviewing it for GoN so stay tuned for that as well :)

I absolutely love GFRS on Xbox and have completed SP on Elite and played a tonne of multi so I'll have a very keen eye for PC-specific detail which will be the thrust of the review.

BACK TO DARK SOULS.

Right, have also had a red and black invader before, I just thought they were XBL users with decent usernames!

Okay, so I should probably pay attention to the NPC's, mostly they've just been part of the dream-like backdrop.

So how is ringing the second bell the start of the real Dark Souls? Does it get even harder? I am genuinely surprised by how easily I've taken Blightown apart, it holds no threats for me (as long as I don't get overly confident).

I think I'm going to need to reroll at some point once I get a grasp on crafting, I really feel like I'm missing out by just spamming the Drake Sword about. Do you reroll on NG+? Would it be worth fighting my way through the game or rerolling now with a different, more focused build? I figure that eventually I can level up any character to fit any build so should probably keep going?

I thought everyone who loved Dark Souls was just being a wagon-riding hipster, but there really is something so very, very special about this game.

Neg. You keep the same levelled-up character, plus all of your armour, weapons, ore, etc and just face harder iterations of the same enemies.

For what it's worth, feel free to experiment with different weapons. I've been through a fair few different kit-outs in the same run-through. Especially once you get past Sen's Fortress.

Indeed there is, for people prepared to face a challenge. :)

id keep playing as a screwed up build, ng+ will hurt you, but youll get an idea of what you like/how you play. If you keep playing your current build, dont worry about stopping at any level (most people stop ~sl120) just keep leveling up and trying everything

it gets a lot harder from the second bell onwards, your next location is a 'testing ground' (in lore) and is one of the best places in game (watch for invasions!)

spamming the drake sword isn't a bad option, as for crafting, follow this chart:

Minecraft. Can't believe i'm playing that again lol. Improved a lot since I last played though food is just simply annoying. I'm playing with friends and what we're doing is going into teams and creating a maze of traps and stuff and after a month each team goes into the others maze and tries to get to the end. Should be fun. :)

My brother isn't having fun with his new Xbox. First he can't play Forza 3 because we derpily put the content codes on my gamertag and M$ selfishly have no way to transfer the codes. Now he can't play Forza 2 because the game keeps crying about there being missing DLC despite us copying over everything between the XBox's. The kicker being that you can't download the Forza 2 DLC anymore because M$ selfishly removed it from the marketplace for no good reason. This is why I hate DLC's and online taking over. You no longer have that guarantee that your game will work in the future anymore, it's absolutely terrible.

This might just be one of the best articles on gaming I've ever read. And it reinforces my hopes for Dishonored.

Edit: Speaking of Dishonored, two new (also amazing) gameplay videos: (Obvs has some minor game spoilers)

I'm actually ultra excited about rolling on a new RP server in a brand new game by Funcom tonight.

Age of Conan was amazing for RP, but it died.

The Secret World is heaps better on launch, so I'm really pumped to experience the new RP server and getting to know each other again, and with some assurance that they won't be repeating the mistakes that killed AoC.

Beat Quelaag! Wasted 5 humanities trying to summon other players, my advice for new players is that Quelaag is easy if you're patient, and just keep strafing around her 'nose' as you can kind of push up next to her and she'll never hit you, then it's just a matter of avoiding her big magic blast.

Joined the Chaos Covenant, love my new fireball (glove is now +4 also). Next up is navigating the tree area as I know ash lake is past there. Should I join the Dragon Covenant? Not sure what the point of all these covenants is, I'm kinda spamming them for G.

Also, should I sell goods for souls to the new dude at firelink or offer them for demon titanite (and more) to the creature back at the undead asylum?

I haven't started it yet but i've watched my brother play on occasion and the main thing that's off for me is the facial expressions not matching up with body movement, comes across as very disconnected. Also my brother has complained in the past where he'll 'doubt' someone and the guy goes crazy with accusations.
