Skyrim's Dawnguard DLC Released for 360

Unread postby News Portal » 27 Jun 12, 3:26 pm

The first DLC for The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, a little game that came out late last year, you might have heard of it, was released for the XBox 360 yesterday. For 1600 Microsoft points, you get Dawnguard, 20-30 vampire-centric hours, with new locations, characters and quests. And crossbows. Crossbows.

Once you've installed Dawnguard and are level 10 or above, guards will start mentioning that some geezer is looking to rebuild the titular Dawnguard. In my game, when I entered Whiterun another gentleman was having a sword-based tiff with what I can only assume was a vampire, and he told me where to go to join. Check out a full list of exciting features over here - PC users, however, will have to wait a month.

For a game like Skyrim?... Better for developers and publishers perhaps, but definitely not better for gamers or the modding community that has been they key to unlocking TES games for a while now.

Skyrim on consoles is laughable, the load times are ridiculous.

I can't believe this is even seen as a problem. Microsoft paid them a lot of money for timed 360 exclusivity. Who the hell would pay them for it to be on PC first? NVidia? As someone else said, it's good for the publishers and developers. Seriously guys, it's a business, not a frigging cuddle party. At least the eventual PC version will probably have any quest bugs ironed out.

It's easy man. Just go find a random tavern and kill everyone, then save it and delete all your other saves. Then you have no choice.
