*snore*

Doom 3 so, so hyped and so bland to play. Look a scare! Oh look the exact same scare on every repeat gameplay. It just wasn't that good in terms of gameplay, sure looked nice though. 3D support sounds very interesting though, should be fun.

Admittedly, me too. Even though I agree it wasn't really that scary. You could practically predict exactly where the monster closets were, and exactly when they were going to pop out, after only an hour or so of gameplay. It was like "ooh obvious item is obvious, those bits of wall there, there and there will slide open and badguys will pour out, so I'll just line myself and run over the powerup this way..."

That said if there's lots of interesting new content then maybe it'll be cool? Almost worth if for "the lost missions" alone.

edit:after looking at trailers it appears it's just the PC version at 720p. With extra levels. And Doom 1&2 added on. Pass.

Indeed it was. You can use the flashlight and a weapon at the same time. They say that that wasn't possible because of 'technical' reasons.

Yeah graphics don't look any different whatsoever.

According to the wikipedia page it'll have a shoulder mounted flashlight, the lack of one really killed my first attempt at Doom 3.

Nothing new for PC. Yay for cheap cash-ins?

An odd coincidence. A friend and I were earlier today dissecting where Doom3 seemed to get it all wrong with regards to capturing that feel that the original games had. Here's hoping that the bundled I&II games see a revamp too.

Confirmed by Bethesda's David Clayman in this interview: http://www.playerattack.com/news/2012/0 ... g-edition/
Not gunna lie, that piqued my interest more than anything else about the announcement. I don't want 3D or another copy of the original 2 games but making Doom 3 playable? Neat. Might pick it up one day.

it was completely playable with the flashlight, it was just annoying lol great game, dunno why so many people hated, wasn't the best thing ever made, but it did what it was meant to do. A solid sci fi horror with demons!!

Was scarey as when i first played it lol the game had a great atmosphere too it that sucked you in. Loved listening in on all the peoples conversations about all the weird **** happening.

I already own all the Doom games and I'm not into 3D much. Will have to wait to see how much it costs to justify paying for a few extra levels.

Would much rather Doom 4.

Yeah, because they're going to implement DX11, tessellation, global illumination and PhysX for Doom 1, 2 & 3. What a commercial success that would be!
