Hey guys, just showing my setup and how its changed alot since getting a new job up north in QLD.

When I first Arrived it was cramped and messy >.<


Picked up a new side table and set out on making a cleaner layout


New Audio setup as I knew my future upgrade parts where going to remove my Asus Soundcard


Old PC setup on new layout, much tidier


Out with the very annoying old Xfire setup and in with the 2x680s
Was still waiting on the corsair cables from the States so this was a rough install


New Cables and FC5 where the last things to arrive so here is the finished product




Annnd the consoles now in the new cabinet

Nothing overly fancy, but I'll get the obligatory post out the way;

The Home Office/Gaming Desk Setup;



Guitar Hero 5 guitar because **** yeah Guitar Hero. Trusty el-cheapo Logitech Playstation-clone controller for the platformers and racers, oldschool Top Gun Thrustmaster joystick for the flying (although mouse + keyboard is used most of the time, the joystick is more for the simulators). Logitech G110 keyboard (bought it for the flashy lights and not much else), Logitech G35 headset (recommended), and of course the Aperture Science Turrets to keep everything safe... Case is just a cheapy Antec Gaming 300.

you have NO idea how much this irritates me. I'm quite OCD about where everything goes, and if something is cluttered or obscured it gives me the heebee jeebees.

I've just turned the speakers on their side... not sure i like it like that though atm

Mine are behind the monitors as well and in my dark computer room/dungeon(as the better half calls it) i cant see them Win Win

Sound comes thru clear under the monitors, was the best i could come up with,unless anyone know a speaker kit that has 3 speakers that can clip onto the top of the screens.
That would be the best, or i just bust out the hammer drill and start making shelves, sounds like too much work already

With reguards to 3monitor issues with speakers.. some of you seem to be having..
Your better off lifting the monitors up.. most desks without a monitor shelf seem to place your monitors 10-20cm to low anyhow..
A few GFX card boxes (laying flat) and a plank of timber (or 3 floorboards) cut to length make a good shelf for monitors, I use a set of shelves turned sideways so I can sit things on top.
(theres a pic floating arround here somewhere)

If you dont want to lift your monitors up...
Get yourselves some of the tubes you get scotch bottles in..
Glenfiddich works well and is nice to drink as well.

Fill them with sand or rice. I prefer rice as it makes less mess but brickies sand weighs more.
Mount speakers to top of tubes, I punch holes in the metal lids, run cable tie through then glue the lids on.
You may need a door wedge or two to cut down if your speakers do not have an adjustable tilt on their feet.
Now your speakers should sit poking just above the top of a standard 24" lcd.
If you have falling over issues (ie your clumbsy and smash the **** out of your desk) try seating the tubes in large milo tins.
