This is my biggest fear TBH, every incarnation of the engine so far they've let me down with the same bs so I'd say A3 will be the same. I stg if the ladder bug exists i'll firebomb their offices. At least we get customizable optics this time :D.

The movement itself feels a little off too. It feels like a 3rd person game with a 1st person view.

To me at least.

Turning down Aiming Deadzone in Game Options & Mouse Smoothing in Controls helps a lot, however you can't change the mouselook (mouse acceleration) that also makes aiming 'sluggish'.

A recent post from an ArmA 3 developer on mouselook:

So far, in E3 build, there is mouselook 1:1 with no weapon lag - player's avatar aim is directly linked with mouse movement, with no artificial limitations forced. If you draw a square with your mouse by any speed, your character's aim describes the same square too. (in Arma2 it was totally unpredictable - see OP)

This means Arma3 handles like a standard fps in regard of mouselook (so yeah, like CoD too) It will undoubtedly create lot of controversy, mainly by increasing the pace of close range combat (actually measured) So far it was well-received among BI team members, testers and consultants, however I can imagine this being a nightmare come true for some people (I won't be pointing fingers, metalcraze ).

Be advised the matter of aiming with heavy weapons is not closed yet. From a certain threshold, weapons weight should have negative effect on close combat efficiency and we plan to introduce that in some form yet, just need moar time for experiments. So don't give up on us.

Glad to read that, close combat has always felt crappy.

Ball0fire wrote:but how do you make the controls more fluid or smooth when there are so many option?

so you walk up to a GPK
what do you want to do

1 open the boot and put in or take out gear
2 get in the drivers seat
3 get in a passengers seat
4 get in the gunners seat

(note different games can have more options than that)

how do you make that easier without having all those options?

who said take options away?

1. press MMbutton
2. press MMbutton
3. press MMbutton
4. press MMbutton

1. you can't get in the drivers seat or any other seat from behind the car
2. you stand by the drivers door
3. you stand by the passenger door of choice
4. you stand by the gunners seat.

there is no need to remove context menus, they just have to work more fluidly.
Inventory management doesn't have to be such a nightmare.
if a person has a backpack, add more slots to the inventory menu.
bigger backpack = more slots.

Make it so animations aren't breaking fluid motion and movement all the time.
eg: why do I have to stand still to throw a smoke grenade or change weapon?

people in real life can holster a pistol and transition to a rifle no problem and vice verse.

why do I have to come to a virtual standstill to vault something?
I've vaulted many things in real life without breaking stride.

and for the love of god can inanimate objects stop breaking my legs when I go prone?
a tree killed me about an hour ago because I dared go prone under it.
Luckily I had friends online who could loot my corpse and drop my gear in our truck else that would have been a range-finder and incredibly rare sniper rifle down the drain because the server got rebooted 2 mins before I got back to where I died. [after 25 mins of travel.]

This really sucks. Why can't these people target the government's servers? Why ruin the enjoyment of gamers who never do anything wrong?

They do it because they're butthurt basement dwellers who need to make people feel bad for a moment to get away from their pathetic lives, it's no different to when you see a media story on one of those "trolls" who does things like posting dead babies on the facebook wall of parents who lose a child... when you actually see them IRL they're always fat, 40 year old, ugly people who hate their marriage/life.
