blue posts have said that the gold dupe doesn't work. it sounded like they had recently taken a look at user's gold and haven't seen anything too bad.

there has also been no confirmation on whether the duping on the asian servers is perm.

also, there was a big ban wave today of botters. there probably would have been a **** massive amount of gold wiped out on those accounts, which is perfect timing for the upcoming RMAH release.

but if you want to knee-jerk to every **** rumour in the community, then that's your choice I guess.

did you ever play D2? that game was heavily economy-orientated and had a lot of issues. duping, bugged items, you name it. this **** isn't new to the diablo series.

I think the only issue I'm finding is the latency spiking very high sometimes. I normally sit in the green but today was spiking to red frequently.

As for bugs, I've not noticed any...

eh, i've noticed it on and off, only for about an hour or so...if it gets really bad, i might go get a drink/snack, go read a book...go for a walk..outside is awesome.

if you thought it wouldn't apply to D3 then, well...lol.

Nope.

As skitzor said really.

I'm gonna have to agree with diamondd here... nothing wrong with Torchlight. Had it not been for the first one, I probably wouldn't have been in the mood for getting the Diablo 3 beta and thus wouldn't have gotten Diablo 3. Probably would be getting better grades too now that I think about it.

Is it necessary to be a condescending douche or does it just make you feel better about yourself? I'm talking regular latency, not massive spikes. Once you actually get to a point in the game where getting hit actually hurts(or simply one shots you) 200ms simply stops being adequate. Have you ever played a FPS with a high latency? Yeh, same thing. Frustration is all this causes.

I love that "it happened in the last game" is suddenly an excuse for something.
They implemented the online only thing to eliminate this but it hasn't done anything to quash it. At all.

I wasn't making this thread to be argumentative, I just wanted opinions. Sure enough though, someone has to be a douche.

I don't know. I've played in Hell hardcore as a demon hunter (twitch character) with 250ms. I did fine... it wasn't the latency that killed me.

I see posts by Australians saying hardcore is 'impossible' with our latency and just laugh at them.

I wasn't that impressed after the first 2 Acts tbh, thought the graphics were uninspired, the whole blacksmith leveling was a waste of money (oh, i have to level you a few times to get past the items i CANT equip, to get to the ones i can? And then if i do buy something from you with multiple magic properties half of them are ****?) and playing co-op i was disappointed you couldn't also hire a follower. I also can't believe the amount of items with the stat +XP which i see wayyyy more on items than anything else! Many people I've talked to didn't even realise there is Elective mode, as this didn't seem to be mentioned in the tutorial, and if you've ever played an ARPG before (which i think the majority of players would've) is probably the most important part of customising a character.

Having said all that, now I've finished on the first difficulty, i am enjoying it a lot more. I like how they introduce some different things on the subsequent playthroughs (other than just better loot/difficult mobs), and i think the later levels look really great. Hopefully by the time Torchlight 2 is out, I'll have played through all the difficulties with the chars i want to, and be ready for something different.

The only real bug I've noticed (which happens frequently) is in co-op, when you 'inspect' your friend to have a look at their equipment, sometimes nothing shows up. Have definitely noticed ping going up and down, but it's been manageable for the most part.

Hell still doesn't one shot you like Inferno does. Wait until you crack Inferno, your DH will be dead before the end of the first act.

Your complaint wasn't limited to one-shots... I've successfully played hardcore in fights where I could be 2-3 shotted.

Why? These games you should play what class interests you.

And fyi, by 'hardcore' I'm meaning the game mode, not as a personal compliment.

The complains on the forums about hell/inferno game mode are from mostly melee classes. Pretty obvious why you aren't having a problem.

DH's complain a lot as well...

We can be one-shot killed by anything Hell upwards, which is obviously an issue if you only have one life.

The only thing that lets DHs get away with going glass cannon is when they have unlimited lives.

This is bourne out by hardcore inferno progression. The most progressed hardcore characters have been a monk (act 3), and a barbarian (act 2). AFAIK, demon hunters haven't gotten past hardcore act 1 inferno yet, due to their glass cannon status. Monk and barb are more progressed because while they are melee, they can take more hits, which is the biggest help to progression in hardcore.

Maybe you should do some research into actual class progression before throwing around terms like muppet.

That said, I was just saying in my original comment that I accept these issues, and it hasn't been latency that's killed me. Hardcore is also playable and enjoyable, even at 200 ping.
