Yeah I'm getting:

"Internal exception: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset"

And the Tekkit forums are being moved so I can't check what the error means. I thought it was a port issue, which I've forward [at least the ones normally used by MC]. Any suggestions? I've a mate who is having the same issue I might add.

EDIT: The error has mysteriously resolved itself, hooray!

Well it must just hate me. I can't figure out why it doesn't like it. I've made sure port 6969 is forwarded, I've redownloaded both Tekkit and MC, I've tried with Windows Firewall off, I've tried with the IP rather than the hostname address. Still gets the same error. It polls the server fine, it just can't get in. This is most frustrating.

Not just you!

I was just trying to craft red matter helmet and wondering why it wasn't working.

On Crafting Table III it just doesn't craft when clicking it. Using one of those ancient, manually operated crafting tables just has the helmet appear for a bit then disappear.

A stone shovel worked though.

Only started playing tekkit like 3 days ago and omg. This is so goddamn great.

Noticed the server is pretty quiet - Cause of diablo? ;)

Was wondering about the future of this server... So Hydra if you see this - think the server will be around for a while? I'm loving this and would play a while.

Also coming from the vanilla server, I'm used to luxuries like world guard and essentials.. Any plans for this sort of thing? Can you even do them with tekkit??

I've been playing here for the last few days, I've noticed the server doesn't really have an active moderator. I would like to put my hand up to taking on such a responsibility. I've had plenty of experience as a moderator and am well equipped with knowledge on log block, world edit and world guard. As well as knowing how to roll back griefed areas without crashing the server :D Also I think this server needs an awesome spawn area which I would be happy to design :D

Tekkit, as the name suggests, is just Bukkit that is heavily modified. Essentials, WorldGuard etc. do work and work as you would expect if they were in Vanilla.

Installation is the same and management is no different. The extra effort comes when you setup protections with plugins like LWC. LWC for example is a chest/furnace/dispenser etc. protection plugin. I'm assured by the developer of LWC though that getting it to be useful with Tekkit simply requires modifying the config so that it understands that the block ID for the DM Furnace is a furnace or that the alchemical chest is a chest etc.

It shouldn't be that big a deal I suppose but it depends on how much time someone has to waste on Tekkit and its future prospects.

I messaged Hydra about it, but he isn't there. Hopefully it won't be down too long. Am sure you can use RL to amuse you for the time being :p
