Unfortunately I can not make it tonight. As much as this presents the perfect opportunity to reclaim my honour (yes, I'm going to hold that grudge Freeborne :P ), it's my 21st and the fancy dinner that my folks who flew across the country to take me to takes priority. Next time, I promise. :)

Nice try, but we'll be PvP'ing probably for a few hours. National Lampoon family occasions don't even last that long.

Coop would be fun. Me and some of the "DayZ Influx" have been playing regularly in the evenings with the ACE mod and some of the various coop missions, plus a few of the SP scenarios I coopified in the editor myself.

I'll play PvP vanilla, cause it'd be nice to be on a server with a goodly sized number of players. I'm just glad it's not warfare. If I want an RTS I'll go play one, kthnx.

Keep crashing as soon as the map loads. Nobody in game has had any ideas (i.e. ignored me), nobody on ts has any ideas (i.e. ignored me), do you guys have any ideas?

noone has said if its vanilla arma2 or operation arrowhead or combined ops

not running the same version would have that result

The server only shows up in combined ops. I tried taking all the addons out of my folder, and that fixed it for one map, but I started crashing again once that map had finished.

Pretty good night all in all.

Wasn't many issues with dsync or crashes, and we had up to 45 players between 7 and 9, mostly playing AAS, with numbers slowly trailing off as night wore on. We finished up at 12:00 with 8 players left, playing CTF and DM mostly by then. TeamSpeak was packed with players, many who needed some valium to calm themselves down. They got so excited, shouting and squealing all night :)

There was a lot of requests to do this more often, and although the server is 24x7 PvP, we'll try to organize larger games on semi-regular basis as well, maybe have some more competitive games too (like NZ vs AU, Clans vs Pubbers, etc)

People still play vanilla Arma2? All the teams use a base of CO by default, so was a bit of an oversight I guess.

Was a good night if you didn't take it too seriously, only thing that pee'd us off was the stupid player tags hovering everywhere in that early AAS mission, and fscking crosshairs turned on (and a certain GM picking broken missions, playing for 5 minutes and cycling to another one :P ).

Still, we're keen for some more, and hopefully it gave some people a taste for these sorts of things that we do to get together for a bit of fun.

We'll stick to our team AusArma TS channel though, not running ACRE makes it a hell of a mess to coordinate in a public channel.

Some TDM would be interesting (might be dominated by the AusArma teams though), we got sick of that solo DM very quickly, especially such a small spawn area. Spawn, die, spawn, die, spawn, kill someone standing in front of you looking the other way, die, spawn, die, spawn... etc.

This Friday night is 40 player Team vs Team mission, by OCB.

Blufor must lead a convey through Takistan, with only revive available. OPFOR will spawn along the routes, bit like Insurgents and have to stop them. That's all I know, but it sounds like it should be a fun night.

Regular PvP night I think will be Saturday night. Have to check with 76 about that though. Crosshairs have been turned off on Veteran mode noq (we played Veteran and Expert last week, but crosshairs were enabled on Vet).

Slots are limited though for OCB event, so not sure how many slots will be free for GON'ers.

I'm really keen for this but unfortunately(or not..) in sunny Cali on "Vacation" or whatever it is they call it here... Give everyone a break from Sky Monster's bullsh*t

Nah when you're back from vacation we'll pick another night of the week you're not available. :wink:

PvP used to be really popular back in the day, with 20-30 players on Friday and Saturday nights. 76 has been tasked with making it happen again, because he's always going on how awesome PvP is and that there's a huge crowd of players out there that miss it.

The PvP server is 24x7, but we'll run a few organized events frequently to make it a semi-regular thing, and get old players back into PvP, as well as the new ones addicted to it. Then the events won't be semi-organized as much and players will just know what time to show up for a good turn out.

As for this Friday, we're testing a TvT mission made by OCB, which they want to use in a TvT ladder. So if you've got a team, you can always sign up to that ladder and just have regular TvT matches.
