I guess that's a part where you have to play to find out, but i will give a hint you get to play as the "old" max payne.

If someone does answer this, can you please use the spoiler tag! I'm enjoying the fact that I know very little about the game! :)

I don't want to sit there anticipating or waiting for something that will or won't occur lol :P

Story-based flashbacks only guys, no nightmare stuff. The flashbacks are full 'missions' which I found pretty good, he was drunk in about 80% of them though if that counts.

So as I feared, it'll be a good game (maybe even an amazing game, but not a good Max Payne game. :(

You do have to understand the fundamental reason as to why Max Payne 3 is like this, Rockstar felt the whole nightmare-fueled stage of Max's life was over and now it was a matter of telling the aftermath of it all with his drinking and popping pills.

I think what they are trying to ultimately do is to move Max on in his life, he's hit rock bottom and he's trying to make his way back up. Personally I don't think they could've done the story any better and that it's going to lead to more Max Payne in the future. Let's face it? Did you really want to play another dark depressing story?

Also, the ability to only hold 2 pistols, SMG's and then only one two handed weapon. It creates an interesting dynamic from the first one where you have every gun imaginable in thin air, I do like the realism they have introduced into the game.

Try launching it in either XP SP3 or Vista compatability. I know that is apparently one of the fixes.

This game is fantastic, with eye-candy maxed and vsync disabled evga precision is reporting 450-600fps most of the time. Looks like Rockstar RTFM'd for PC development. ;)

It kinda does you see most of the comic book style's in the loading screen, the narration is there but nothing like the previous version max still narrates as you play kinda giving off hints of what you need to do in some parts.

Cut scences are very "movie like" i don't find it as dark as the previous games but still just as enjoyable to play/watch.

I've almost finished the x360 version and i've quite enjoyed every second of it.

Cool thanks, I had figured it wouldn't carry over to the new game. Ah well!

I think it's most likely just a case that Remedy's way of telling a story didn't gel with Rockstars way with a story so they simply decided to change things to suite their strengths, nothing more.

Also not too bothered with that particular gameplay change as I was never a huge fan of holding every weapon available even back when that was all we had. The only thing I dislike about it is that in pretty much every game that isn't Halo the choice is pointless and they're practically the same weapon just with slightly different firing rates, damage and accuracy.
